Pepper's already spending your money

David Pepper has hired a chief of staff for when he becomes a Hamilton County commissioner next year -- but he doesn't know how much you will pay her.

Pepper hired Bridget Doherty, (pictured) his hard-working campaign spokeswoman who also is a former Cincinnati radio reporter.

Pepper said he is unsure what Doherty's salary would be but said it would be "in the middle" of the annual salary range for that position. The range is $42,619-$58,011.

That means Doherty will make about $50,000 per year.

Pepper takes office Jan. 2.

The other county employee -- a secretary -- will be hired in the next few days, Pepper said.

That headline is disgusting, kimball. High school reporters have more intergrity than you.

Can't even keep your bias out of this story, Kimball? Pepper's not spending a dime until he takes office and you know it. How about a headline like "Heimlich still spending your money" along with a story about Heimlich and his cronies still being paid through the year even though he got his ass kicked in the election?

What's with the insinuating headline, Kimball Perry?: "Pepper's Already Spending Your Money"

Hiring staff is a given. Any member of county commission needs support staff. Your headline implies that Pepper's misusing county funds.

Is the real problem that Pepper's NOT spending money to buy positive press from lazy, corrupt reporters?

Isn't chub chub Bridget the former sidekick for Bill Cunningham?

Also, what's she going to do now with the smoking ban, seeing that she lights up every 2 minutes?

Angry reporter Kimball Perry is still having a difficult time accepting the fact that his amorati was booted out of office. Perry hopes that Enquirer readers won't tag his punk attacks on David Pepper for what they are.

Watch Perry continue to write greasy tributes to Heimlich's criminal giveaway of Drake Hospital. See Perry continue to try to resuscitate Heimlich's moribund political career.

All those years of brown-nosing for nothing.

I'd like to know how many hours Roberts and Schrimpf have put in since the election? Are they showing up for work? Are they being paid even though they are doing nothing? Are these employees on salary and haveno job duties.

Oh wait, I know what they are doing - they are shredding documents, deleting emails, changing their phone records and thelike - fearful that an investigation may ariseinto the multiple violations of law.
Well, don't worry Deters is still running the prosecutors office so noone will be pursued.

chub chub? Briget's not skinny, but she's not a fatty!

I also worry about her smoking habit....just think, if she quits, she might really be a chub chub

David Pepper supporters are actually as dumb as Jean Schmidt supporters. The Enquirer blindly endorses both candidates numerous times in the last 18 months, no matter how ineffective they are, yet their supporters continue to run around acting like the paper is biased against them.

The ignorance of Schmidt and Pepper supporters is as bad as the ignorance the Enquirer shows by continuing to endorse such terrible public officials.

Ok "chub chub" looks like someone is jealous of a successful female finally getting her just desserts. chew on that!!!!

I heard that Jim Parker, the guy who ran for Congress by knocking on thousands of people's doors last year, is trying to meet with David Pepper. Is this true?

Parker surpised everyone with his campaign. You should see what he's doing these days.

Has anybody else heard anything about Jim Parker trying to meet with David Pepper?

C'mon, Kimball.

I'm a strong Republican. I work in the Courthouse, Kimball. I know you. I begrudgingly supported Phil because he was our guy, but you know Phil's courthouse support was lukewarm. I love Judge Dink and all the other Republicans. I say this so that you hear one thing loud & clear:

THAT HEADLINE IS WRONG and you know it. "Spending your money?" The guy has to hire a chief of staff. He's entitled to his own people when he is one of 3 very important votes running the county.

You know, this, Kimball. You owe David and the readers an apology. The headline is unfair and you're a good reporter. Resist the urge to write things like that because the other side questions your credibility. I know that you are a great reporter with great sources who does his homework. I also know you're not biased for R's or D's and you'll equally slam those who deserve it. Even about a Democrat, this Republican thinks you're wrong to write that headline.

Does Bridget even have a college degree? She doesn't come across that bright to me. It just seems like I've seen her drunk way too many times.

Kimball, your reporting has now dipped as low as Malia's & Howard's. I think Pepper is allowed to hire his own staff. You didn't attack Heimlich when he spent taxpayers money on staff and you have never attacked his under the table dealings with Finney. Lets have a story on the Heimlich-Finney real estate deals.

**She smokes! She drinks! She is NOT anorexic!**

I only wish I could be surprised that there are comments centering on the physical appearance and personal habits of a sucessful professional woman.

Congratulations, Bridget, on your success.

Thank you, David Pepper, for valuing a woman as a respected colleague.

High school reporters have more
integrety than all y'all anonymous
posters. That being said, Brigit
is a hottie!

Congratulations, Bridget!

By these standards, the smoking, heavy drinking, obese Winston Churchill would be unfit to serve as David Pepper's chief of staff.

Oh, wait, Winston was a man.

Knowing Bridget, and knowing others who have served this role, it's fair to say she'll do a great job.

That said, she or someone needs to get serious about investigating and indicting all of the corrupt Republicans in the county courthouse. Hire a special prosecutor if needed.

It's not just the money and the insider deals. How about investigating their dereliction of the public duty? How about investigating their complicity in the murder of Marcus Fiesel?

Heimlich, DeWine, Neyer, Bedinghaus, and every commissioner going back to Bob Taft and Steve Chabot should be in jail as an accessory to the murder of Marcus, except Todd Portune.

Todd Portune tried desperately to bring needed reform to the foster-care system, but the Repugnicants were too bust being paid off by the privatized privateers like Deathway for Kids.

And when they finish there they can go after our so-called leaders at the state level who let anyone who could fog a mirror take care of foster kids, so long as the kickbacks flowed.

This includes our Governors Voinovich and Taft, Attorney Generals Petro and Montgomery, and those two so-called Auditors.

Lee Fisher and Dick Celeste had a great reform plan in place but the Repugnicants blocked it at each and every turn.

Every Republican official in Ohio has Marcus Feisel's blood on their hands, or in their wallets.

At one time or another, enarly every Democrat has tried to implement much needed reforms only to be stymied by corrupt Republicans being paid off.

Yes, Virginia, your "sainted" Republican officials are nothing more than money-grubbing criminals. Every single one of them, including your Congressman Combover, need to be put in jail. NOW.

Screw their due processs rights. Throwing these bastards in jail should be as easy as bribing them under the table.

The story reads fine, but the headline seems unnecessarily combative. Somebody at the Enquirer ought to tell us what's going on here.

Unbelievable. Even as my expectations of Kimball Perry sink lower and lower, he still fails to meet them.

....Has anybody else heard anything about Jim Parker trying to meet with David Pepper?

I heard the former and current loser, parker, was trying to be the secretary !

He offered to whip up a bowl of bean soup for David !

Re: "RememberMarcus'" comment 12/14 2:16p.m. - exTREMEly well said, RM. The key word connection is republic party and money. It's their one and only goal and god. Name ONE socially responsible or beneficial policy advanced by the "right" at the county, state or national level. Good hunting; it's a folly. Their greed and incompetence are more than breathtaking and are leading to the current decline and fall of the American Empire. R.I.P.
And for Senator Tim Johnson - please, please get healthy ASAP; the mere thought of "Shooter" Cheney casting deciding votes in a 50-50 Senate creates severe, near-fatal anxiety.
