Vote for my daughter

"This is true love," says Patsy Pickens. She is standing in a Mount Airy parking lot in the rain, her dark hair plastered to her head, a cup of coffee in her hand.
This is her last-minute stump for Kim Hale, a state representative candidate battling Dale Mallory - and, as it happens, Pickens' daughter. Mom and Dad took on the weather with a smile Tuesday morning in the parking lot of Mt. Airy United Methodist Church. They handed out cards with Hale's name on them and laughed about the steady stream of both voters and rain. Neither complained about the weather. "We believe in what she's doing, Pickens said.

Things are getting really heated in the 32nd House Race. Dale Mallory was seen removing Hale Yes signs after voting at Bloom Elementary School this morning in the West End. Dale got into a disagreement over legal yard signs with the volunteer Hale poll worker. Also in the West End, a Hale Yes volunteer had her campaign literature taken out of her hands by someone driving by the poll at St Marks Christian Church on Ezzard Charles Dr. And Joe Mallory of the Board of Elections was helping himself to Hale Yes signs up at the First United Church of Christ on Glenview Ave in College Hill. Has Kim Hale's positive campaign driven the Mallory's over the edge?
