New poll shows Wulsin leading Schmidt

Schmidt's leading. No, Wulsin's leading. No, Schmidt's leading. No, Wulsin... That's right, as more and more polls come out on this race, the direction of the voters gets murkier and murkier.

Earlier this week, a computer-generated poll from RT Strategies and Constituent Dynamics showed Rep. Jean Schmidt leading Democrat Victoria Wulsin 51%to 46%.

Today, a new poll from WCPO and Survey USA shows Wulsin leading Schmidt 48% to 45 %. This poll of 618 likely voters was conducted Oct. 29-31. It has a margin of error of +/- 3%.

CLICK HERE to read more about it.

And when you look closer, also check out how different groups of voters are splitting in this race: Wulsin is leading Schmidt 55% to 35% among independent voters with 10% undecided. Among Republicans, Schmidt leads 78% to 15% while Wulsin leads 90% to 6% among Democrats.

Are Republicans flocking to Wulsin or are they just not that excited about Schmidt?

I can not believe that our congresswoman is losing to a Democratic. If Congresswoman Jean could just keep her big mouth shut, she would be ahead in the polls. Jean is just not smart enough to represent our district.

All this jockeying for "poll position" doesn't mean much. Vic Wulsin is running at Daytona, while poor Jean Schmidt cant't decide if she's in the "Fortune 500" or the "self-demolition" derby.

I would not put a whole lot of faith in SurveyUSA polls. This is the same poll that had Schmidt leading Bob McEwen by 30 points at one point and she ended up winning by 5.

What will the polls say when they read about Victoria Wells/Wulsin's lies? What will they say when they read that Wulsin has been lying about a nuclear waste dump? What will they say when they learn that the United Steel Workers wrote Wells AKA Wulsin and said that

"...no elected official including your opponent Congresswoman Schmidt, union member, or community leader supports the idea of creating a waste dump at the Piketon site."

Read all about it HERE

The results of the poll don’t surprise me. I was unsure about how I’d vote until I saw the Schmidt commercial suggesting Victoria Wulsin respected homosexual relationships. That was the last straw. Conservative people aren’t stupid—we know when we’re being hoodwinked. Our district is fiscally conservative but more socially moderate—more like the rest of the country. In fact, whether we're talking about national security or cultural differences, compared to Jean Schmidt, the people in our district grasp the complexities of the world. I’m almost embarrassed to call myself a moderate Republican and am looking forward to a new congresswoman.

Anon @ 1:07pm. I'm not sure what district you're living in, sparky, but it isn't Ohio's 2nd, whose citizens GOTV en masse in 2004 to make sure our state constitution kept the definition of marriage b/w a man and a woman.

Perhaps you are on that alternative "Martian" congressional district w/Dennis Kucinich.

And if you are a fiscal conservative (and who are we kidding, you aren't), then voting for Schmidt is the only way to stop taxes from rising. Tricky Vicky doesn't have the stomach or brass ovaries enough to go against Reingold's promise to raise all our taxes.

Go spew your nonsense @ moveon.org, troll.

P.S. Wood Sr., Vic doesn't believe in driving remember? She said that she's going to "ride her bike" to help the district. (Eye roll).

Keep it coming guys, you're proving our case and helping us GOTV.

Idiots

All of you who voted for Mean Jean in the past. Everyone knows she is a lame representative and has done a bad job. You had the chance the last 2 years to put a real republican canidate out there. Now you are stuck in a fight for the seat.

You put yourself in this spot. Once again Jean will not get a majority of the vote. If she loses you all that supported this idiot are to blame.

Whiskey, have you been drinking again? It appears that your vision is blurred, as you are having trouble reading the most recent poll. Once Jean is defeated, perhaps you can drive the U-haul to pick up her things from D.C. However, please lay off of the Whiskey when you are driving.

Anonymous at 12:59, 11/3, yeah, vote Democrat--and kill unborn human beings who still reside in their mothers' wombs; vote Democrat--and watch the state give a big juicy OK to Steve "marrying" Bob and Junie "marrying" Ann; vote Democrat--and watch Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi orchestrate one of the most colossal debacles in US history by cutting funding to our military in Iraq and handing the victory to the thugs and murderers of Islamic Fascism, not only in Iraq but around the world; vote Democrat--and watch the government begin giving taxpayer monies to fund embryonic stem cell research despite the fact that ADULT stem cell research is the ONLY stem cell work that has provided ANY positive health results; vote Democrat--and watch Rangel as Chairhuman of the House Ways and Means Committee slowly but surely eliminate each and every single one of the President's tax cuts which (SURPRISE!) results in significant tax increases; vote Democrat--and know that if you liked the excesses and high taxes and big spending of the pseudo-Republican Taft Gang in Columbus, you'll be ecstatic with Strickland in the governor's mansion and the Jackass Party running the legislature; vote Democrat--and send a no-experience, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual "marriage" Indian Hill limousine liberal to DC to represent the Second District; vote Democrat--and watch the Patriot Act be demolished, the NSA eavesdropping on terrorist overseas electronic communications be terminated and full Constitutional legal rights be given to the thugs and murderers of Islamic Fascism we have thrown in prison**then watch one or two of our cities or ports be turned into seas of radioactive glass by those same thugs and murderers.

Yeah, vote Democrat, if you have a death-wish, you'd just as soon kill unborn human beings as not and you love to fork over lots of your hard-earned cash to the wasteful publicly-employed bureaucrats of the state and federal government.

But if you object to what the Dems stand for, then for crying out loud, VOTE REPUBLICAN ON NOV 7! You can bet that I will....

TNP, it seems that you are upset over the latest poll results. Do you need a tissue?

Malia,

The margin of error is 4 points, not three. In either case, the poll does not show Wulsin ahead. When the lead falls within the margin of error, the correct interpretation is: too close to call.
