Things can get a little cozy at the tiny polling location inside Ayer Elementary, but election officials say they've been able to move voters through in less than 15 minutes apiece. Sherrie Heyse, presiding judge of Anderson precinct T, said Ayer saw a morning rush of voters that left the room "a little crowded," but "not unbelievably" so.
By 1 p.m., about 400 voters had cast their ballots inside Ayer, including an older couple who said they'd expected computerized voting and were surprised to see paper ballots. The couple, who declined to give their names, said voting was smooth and easy - they supported Blackwell and most other Republicans.
