The phrase “clinical physician” is vague, and I think purposefully so. It does not indicate a position where some works in a direct-care capacity, as with, say, your family doctor. However, that is how Wulsin comes across in her commercial.
I thought radiographs were associated with patient information, which would violate HIPAA standards if Wulsin has no privileges at the institution where she filmed the ad.
So there may be more to this, though—notice that Wulsin will not answer the question. Why? It is a simple request? Why fuel this speculation, if there is nothing to it?
Now, for the other question. In her report, Wulsin did write: “The preponderance of evidence indicates that neither malaria nor Immunotherapy will cure HIV/AIDS.” However, in the web chat, Wulsin wrote: “I read the relevant literature and found that malariotheraphy had no legitimacy and further research was unwarrented. (sic) I wrote that in my report and I was fired the next day.”
There is a difference between saying evidence indicates it will not cure AIDS, versus saying it has no legitimacy and that further research is unwarranted.
But here are some excerpts from the report:
Further field studies of Immunotherapy, including Phase III and IV clinical trials, require the verification of the encouraging results from East Africa, elaboration on discrepancies between them and the results from the Phase II trial in China, and professional dissemination and transparent discussion with scientists, physicians, and other stakeholders.
That is not a statement that research is unwarranted!
Or this, Wulsin’s ideas for the future of her work with the HI:
Programmatic Next Steps
1. Write a strategic plan for the Heimlich Institute. 2. Rename malariotherapy “Immunotherapy” [“IT”]. 3. Verify and elaborate on East Africa Phase II trial. 4. Explore further collaborating with Michele Ashby, the Denver Gold Group, and/or the CEOs, medical directors, &/or others of appropriate mining companies. 5. Complete and publish review of Immunotherapy.
Financial Next Steps
1. Write a budget for all activities: research, education, outreach, interventions, etc. 2. Secure funding. 3. Work with the Board of Directors to identify individuals, foundations, and corporations to solicit for financial support. 4. Contact Lynn Tilson to explore hosting a Cincinnati-located fundraiser (e.g., “Henry’s Angels”). 5. Contact Martha Jones regarding the Gates Foundation 6. Explore NIH for relevant RFAs [Requests for Applications] and RFPs [Requests for Proposals].
Institutional Next Steps
1. Negotiate with the Deaconess Associations Incorporated a relationship beneficial to all concerned. 2. Write a business plan that includes development, operations, and logistics. 3. Schedule a “retreat” for the Board of Directors. 4. Write a succession plan for Dr. Heimlich with clear milestones, assignments, and requisite resources.
If further research is unwarranted, why all the plans for the future?
You know, when someone doesn’t answer the question, we say they speak “like a politician.” But Wulsin isn’t even good enough to reach that level of lowness.
I know for a fact that the majority of the entries criticizing Jean on this blog are from Republicans. Face it, Jean is not popular with Republicans and she is hated by democrats and independents. 52% of republicans voted against her in the May primary. She is ripe for a fall. The only way she will beat Wulsin is if she writes her campaign another fat check from her bloated savings account.
Here is a fresh subject for you. Do you know how much Jean pays in property taxes on the hundreds of Clermont acres she owns? Pennies per acre. Jean and Tim Rudd have infected that county and are running it like a 1910's political machine. They disguise the central committee meeting times from opposition inside the party and only elect Jean's cronies. Nick Owens was running for central committee last I saw. How many of Jean's employees are on the Clermont central committee? The county is rife with corruption and cronyism and Jean is at the heart of it all. I don't even need to go into past voting discrepancies. (When Jean lost to Tom Niehaus, the Clermont BOE came up with over a thousand ballots that had previously been lost. They pushed Jean within a few hundred votes of winning.)
Hey ask Jean sometime why she was pulled over going south on I-71 one evening in 2004. See what she tells you and then ask if you can trust someone like that with your vote.
When is the SpinquiReR going to mention the blatantly obvious fact to anyone with a television that the NRCC has given up on Steve Chabot? Every single attack ad he is throwing against Cranley comes with the "I'm Steve Chabot and I approve this message" tagline at the end. I have not heard "The Republican National Congressional Committee is responsible for this ad" on an anti-Cranley attack ad in well over a week.
Come on Steve. I know you have Lungren telling you to spend that $700K like there's no tomrrow, but you'll need to find a new job in January and you might want to have at least some shred of dignity and respect when you slither on back home.
Or maybe, you're planning to be a Virginia lobbyist and try to unseat Cranley from Fairfax Station? It has worked so well for Bob McEwen.

Vic Wulsin is apparently an intelligent thoughtful woman. Her blatantly partisan detractors in the chat had nothing to offer but GOP talking points.

Isn't it good to know that Vic did her job and pointed out, reported that HI was heading in the wRong direction !
To bad she lost her job over it !
She may had been able to work for change and find a treatment for HIV / AIDS !
Honorable that she would devote her life to helping others.
Thanks for pointing out how Vic displays compassion and integrity !
I'm certain she will take our country in the right direction as a representative as well !
