Okay let's be fair to Jean Schmidt here...

If you watch that video it's very obvious that Jean's hair is pulled back very tightly in a bun on the back of her so only a little blood was allowed to be circulated to her brain!

What a mean-spirited petty woman in a ridiculous oufit. I dress up like a flag therefore I am a truly heroic patriot.

In the midst of a heatedly emotional debate, Congresswoman Jean Schmidt used some intemperate words to express her contempt for the idiotic position of Congressman Jack Murtha on the war in Iraq. Her angry speech reflected the hostility of many if not most of her commonsense Second Ohio District constituents toward the cut and run, retreat and defeat crowd led by Jack Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, John Kerry and many other voices on the left. Congresswoman Jean Schmidt's exclamations were, perhaps, overzealous. She was new to Congress. But I'm not a bit surprised that the only folks raising hell about what she said and the way she said it are Democrats, some so-called "moderate" Republicans and her local rabid Republican opponents typified by Finney's Fanatics (AKA COAST) and their pottymouthpiece, Jim Schifrin. Murtha and his Jackass Party buddies are fools who had a chance to focus their hatred of George Bush toward one of his staunchest supporters, Congresswoman Jean Schmidt. And I say to hell with them. And I also say to Congresswoman Jean Schmidt: Thanks for telling it like it is when so many in Congress are such mealy-mouthed wusses! You at least understand that no one ever won a war by retreating right in the middle of it!

TNP....You seemed to be under stress? Could it be that your little congresswoman will be out of a job soon? Please do not blame others for Jean's lack of understanding and knowledge of the house rules. You really need to stop being such a cry baby. .

TNP, While most Republicans, myself included, agree with Jean Schmidt's position in the War on Terror, we still have serious issues with the way in which she has conducted herself.

Even if she could be forgiven for those remarks, there are a few other problems. First, the state rep she claims to be quoting in that speech has said he did not say what she attributed to him. That's called lying.

Before that there was her promise to invesitgate the styrene leak and hold those responsible accountable. Never happened.

Since then, she was caught claiming to have Steve Chabot's endorsement. Whoops, Chabot didn't endorse her. Then she said Tom Tancredo endorsed her days after her rival Bob McEwen had an immigration hawk in for a fund-raiser. Whoops, Tancredo didn't endorse her.

Then she claimed that the Family Research Council endorsed her. Whoops. they're a non-profit. Can't endorse anyone.

NExt, we have the claim that she earned two degrees from the University of Cincinnati. Whoops, she didn't have two degrees. Rather than apologize, she claimed that she did the hours but never picked up the degree because her mother dided. Whoops. Her mom died in 1990, 6 YEARS after she took her last class and one year after she first ran for office.

When she first ran for office in 1989, she toled the Clermont Sun she had two degrees and was a teacher. Whoops... she never taught anywhere.

Then in 1993 she told the Sun and the Enquirer she had two degrees. She repeated the lie in 1997 and again in her own wrods she told the League of Women Voters the same thing in 2000. She also told the Sun and the Enquirer the same thing in her 2000 run for state rep.

Lucky for her, the Ohio Elections Commission could only go two years back. But she LIED again when she told the news media the mitake was made for the first time by her web designer and she never looked at her own website.

SIDEBAR: has anyone here worked on a campaign where the candidate did NOT obsess over every item that had his or her name on it? Including the website? END SIDEBAR

Now she shows her ignorance of the House rules. She's been there for a year.

For her to call criticisms of her public statements and voting record "personal attacks" is also way out of line considering that her entire caampaign has been a personal attack on Dr. Wulsin.

Jean Schmidt is an embarassment. She is the reason I am no longer a Republican. Not only am I mortified at her, Iam horrified that much of the "leadership" of my party thinks she is the best we can have representing us.

Dear TNP (9:04)

How sad it is that despite the evidence that the Bush Administration initiated a premptive attack on a sovereign nation based on lies and cherry-picked intel, and despite the fact that they went into the war without a contingency plan, and without proper body armor for our soldiers (had to cut costs in order to pay for the huge profiteering by the president and VP's crony contributors),and despite the fact that 9 BILLION DOLLARS IS UNACCOUNTED FOR, and that the country is in civil war with no positive outllok, the fact is Schmidt broke a house rule by using disparaging remarks about a fellow house member (and a decorated veteran, no less). Rep Murtha has had the ear of many uniformed officers while Ms. Schmidt-only the tired worn out rovian talking points. Rep Murtha has met with wounded soldiers on a regular basis. What are Schmidt's contributions?

Blindly following failed leadership is harming the country. If you truly believe in this president's gameplan-I hear they are looking for volunteers.

I suggest asking yourself who is benefitting from this war. Only the war profiteers.

Schmidt states in her second letter to Dr. Wulsin, "After all, Democracy hinges on all of us living under the same set of rules." Does that include the gay community she bashes in her latest advertisement? Where is the Democracy in that, Congresswoman?

Heh, heh, I stirred up the Dems, the "ain't no an' never been no WMD in Iraq" crowd along with the leftist "Bush lied, people died" automatic run-off-at-the-mouth folks. Even one poor, misguided soul who claims he's no longer a Republican because of Congresswoman Jean Schmidt. Blaming someone else for your own weakness sounds like a Democrat attribute, so the dude was probably never a Republican to begin with; or maybe he was a genyoowhine RINO. Oh well, all these tantrums and injured feelings will be gone with the wind after Congresswoman Jean Schmidt wins her fourth election in 17 months on Nov 7. And instead of that "nice," soft-spoken pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage, Indian Hill limousine liberal, Wulsin, we can expect some more fireworks from our passionate, hard-working, no-nonsense marathon runner, along with some smart legislation and some temperate public pronouncements. And I can turn away from reading the dead, old news, repetitious mantras of libs, leftists, Dems and "former" Republicans. What a relief it will be when they all crawl back in their holes.

BTW, Cincy911truth, "intemperate" means "not temperate." And "temperate" means "marked by moderation." So whatever else you may scream from the rooftops about Congresswoman Jean Schmidt, you cannot say she's a moderate. Well, YOU might, but then you'd be exaggerating for effect, as usual.
I don't want another damned moderate in Congress. I want somebody who stands for the same things I believe in. And I sure as all get out DON'T want a "nice,"
soft-spoken pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage Indian Hill limousine liberal. So all you commonsense Republicans and conservatives out there, vote for Congresswoman Jean Schmidt on
Nov 7. If we're lucky, next time she confronts Murtha on the floor, she'll tell the jerk to go to hell.

if jean schmidt is the reason you arent a republican anymore, i would take a hard look at yourself. either you werent a republican to begin with (which im guessing you weren't) or you were a RHINO and you saw an escape to join the other side. look, if you want to throw your vote to the same group that insurgents in iraq want to win, thats fine. thats not rhetoric, thats fact. the increase in violence in the past 2 weeks isnt a coincidence, and if they A) were winning, and B) wanted us to stay in iraq so they can continue to kill the infidel, they would make bush look great so we'd remain the majority, and im pretty sure the complete opposite is happening. it's just amazing so many americans may fall prey to terrorist propaganda. it doesnt exactly take a rocket scientist to understand how they are playing politics. a major majority of democrats supported the war, and halfway through, they changed their mind. i wish i could do that with all of my decisions. i will be voting republican on the 7th. i want to get out of iraq as soon as we can, but we have an obligation to fulfill. unlike so many in this country, i believe that when you say youre going to do something, you do it.

So, when does teh Enquirer make its endorsement on this one--I am assuming this coming Sunday??

TNP get it through your thick head. Half of the people criticizing Jean on this blog are Republicans. The ice is cracking around your feet and you can't find a way out. There is no escape for Jean this time, she'll probably be in DC on election night to avoid embarrassment, like she did during the primary. She is gone and her time in Congress hasn't been short enough. She is a trite, lying manipulative, irresponsible and corrupt woman who has only succeeded in politics because she is the MILLION $$ heiress of her father's banking and land trust fortune. She runs Clermont like Boss Tweed and she is a lamb in Congress, bowing to the leadership's every request. Southern Ohio didn't vote for a puppet, they voted for a person to represent our values and interests. Jean has done neither. If you’re a Republican vote for Nate Noy or no one at all, if you're a democrat keep it up Jean is ripe to fall.

To all Republicans, if Jean loses, we will have a chance to elect a real republican to office. One that is honest and fights for Southern Ohio, not themselves.

TO all Schmidt Heads I'll be seeing you after your loss on election night. Looking forward to it.

Election day can't come fast enough. I can't wait to vote Jean out of office.

TNP, it's obvious that you'll will never learn even as our democratic republic is collapsing around all of us. But I have to say one thing...you'd make a great Nazi!

If Mean Jean was embarassed by her comments on the House floor, perhaps she should have refrained from making them.

You know what they say karma is a b!@#*!

Jean Schmidt will never live down that "speech". It will be cited in her obituary.

at 9:06 PM, October 27, 2006 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Anonymous at 10:35am, 10/27, you are obviously very young. Only an inexperienced and ignorant young pup would think that our democratic republic is in danger of collapsing. We are, indeed, in danger, and that's exactly why the President is carrying the war against the thugs and murderers of Islamic Fascism TO THEM on their home turf. It's also obvious that you have no clue as to the meaning of English words, since you wrote that I'd be a "great Nazi." I'll not respond to you again. You are beneath contempt.

i-71 Commuter, my head is not "thick," but it is growing larger into a real case of "the big head," as I come to understand the limited vision and intellect of you and all the other rabid critics of Congresswoman Jean Schmidt. Did you really suggest that Republicans vote for that nutty Nathan Noy? It's hard to believe that a legend in your own mind like you would have the temerity to recommend that Republicans not vote at all rather than vote for the Republican candidate. The last time I heard that kind of braindead advice it came from the radio spots purchased by COAST in league with the pro-abortion liberal Frontier PAC during the special general election last year. Perhaps that's a giveaway to your real motives in being such a persistently harsh critic of the good Congresswoman.

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt will not kowtow to Finney's Fanatics (AKA COAST), she's not from Hamilton County, she's a woman and she keeps doing something really annoying to you folks: she keeps winning elections. And she'll win again on Nov 7. When she does, come and join the campaign celebration with the rest of us victorious Republicans. Or perhaps you'd prefer to drown your sorrows in a beer or two along with the Dems. But please remember: if you drink, don't drive. You might kill someone.

In response to Cincy911truth- I am intrigued and quite surprised by a question you posed regarding a 9-11 conspiracy. Actually shocked and kind of freaked out about you mentioning the "puts" incident.

I worked at the CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) up until shortly before 9-11. The pit trading UAL and AA was directly in my view (mine was directly opposite). My friends worked that pit and my former company was the designated primary market maker and market maker for the options you listed. Please divulge any information you have about this unreported conspiracy. You are the first person that I am aware of who has OPENLY mentioned this without having some connection to the CBOE or investigative services (CIA, FBI, NSA, etc.).

Cincy911Truth, I know what I know, and not a single bloody snide remark from you or any of the other hostile twits I duke it out with from time to time on this blog affects the facts one blinking iota.

Write a conspiracy book, dude. It's pretty obvious you think something conspiratorial is afoot concerning the 9/11 disaster. I guess you've decided that it can't be as simple as 19 Islamic Fascist jihadists hijacking four planes and crashing three of them into buildings. It must weigh heavy on your mind that you have discovered the truth about 9/11, but no one will take you seriously, least of all me.

I do know this, Cincy911Truth: I've supported Congresswoman Jean Schmidt in all four of the election runs she's had to make since a year ago this past spring, and she's won three with the fourth very nearly concluded in her favor, too. She's fended off the stupid charges of boy-wonder Nathan Noy, the vicious smear-jobs of that ugly pervert, Jim Schifrin, the underhanded manipulations of COAST,
the good ol' boy glossiness of the geographically-challenged Bob McEwen and countless classless examples of sarcastic Democrat and Brinkman-groupie blog comments. STILL she persists in winning, winning, winning and on Nov 7 winning again. And as long as she continues to work hard in DC and in the Second District to meet the legitimate needs of her constituents and demonstrate her commitment to Republican principles of fiscal restraint, respect for the sanctity of human life, the upholding of the sanctity of traditional marriage and the security of our nation and our people, I will be 100% in her corner. I invite you to join me in supporting a winner for a change.
