We cut off everyone's heads!

Ohio state Rep. Tom Brinkman, R-Cincinnati, who announced earlier today that he's backing Republican Bob McEwen's attempt to oust Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Miami Township, in the GOP primary May 2, sent out this statement in response to Schmidt's earlier statement:

What statement? You know, the one where she was upset that Brinkman and others (including McEwen) "had a great time pretending to cut off" her head.

Here's the statement:
COAST (Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes) has bestowed the Marie Antoinette "Let them Eat Cake" Award on a deserving politician for five years, starting with Commissioner Thomas L. Neyer, Jr. in 2000. This year, Jean Schmidt richly earned it. Other winners have included Council member Alicia Reece, Governor Bob Taft and Commissioner John Dowlin.

It is intended to be a fun poke at the politician who displays the most blithe ignorance of the plight of innocent taxpayers. The peasants of France, carrying pitchforks, of course beheaded at the guillotine the Queen who had created their misery.

COAST annually prepares a cake to celebrate the award recipient, and with great fanfare and celebration serves it to its members at its annual membership fundraiser. It was presented with much humor and enthusiasm, including by a bi-partisan assembly of elected officials, and was received by the attendees thusly.

"No honoree before has complained of the honor, and we doubt anyone will again," said COAST President Jim Urling. "In addition to being unable to control her urges to tax and spend, Ms. Schmidt obviously has no sense of humor."

In addition, there is no distortion of her voting record. During her time in the legislature, she NEVER voted against a single tax increase, and voted in favor of more than a dozen, including the sales tax, and gasoline tax and adding a new dry cleaning tax.

Brinkman, the founder of COAST, was asked - to be fair - if the group severs the heads of everyone who wins this award.

His answer?

"Only people who raise my taxes!"

Why can't we just all get along.

Jean Schmidt is a Grade-A hypocrite. She has no problem taking the House floor and namecalling a decorated Marine, yet she has the gaul to publicly whine when someone paints her head on a cake then slices it.

Mean Jean can dish it out, but she can't take it. I look forward to cutting another cake - at her retirement ceremony in May.

I thought Jean Schmidt was a Representative in Congress. If Jean Schmidt was so bad at raising taxes why didn't she win the award in 2004 or 2005.

Can anyone say that Tom Brinkman has realized he can't attack Jean's rock solid conservative record in Washington since being elected.

And speaking of being elected... does anyone think that Brinkman is still bitter or should I say jealous that he was beat out by a female from Clermont County. How much longer is it until Brinkman sues the Clermont County Commissioners for giving women the benifit of running for office.

No you don't.

I hope there is a defibrillator in Mean Jean's office because she may need one as the heat rises and her lack of patience dwindles.

Tom Brinkman is a great man to step aside in a Congressional race he might win - to ensure we get rid of the RINO Schmidt.

She's a tax and spend Republican, like so many of them these days.

I like what McEwen is saying about Republicans spending just like Democrats the last 10 years - and Schmidt is guilty as charged.

Top it all off with her making a mockery of the district, being lampooned on Saturday Night Live, and now this idiotic press release about someone slicing a cake with her picture on it - well, there is just no comparison to Brinkman or McEwen.

May 2nd can't come soon enough.

Tom Brinkman has become the company man for the white males downtown. It is embarrassing to be a member of the Republican Party in Hamilton County with the likes of Tom Brinkman (homophobic woman-hater), Chris Finney (facist woman-hater) and the white supremecist controlling the Republican Party.

Jean Schmidt has done a fantastic job in 160 days of representing the Second District. Her true record stands as a true conservative record.

Rob Portman is gone but if you think that the scandal ridden Virginia resident Bob McEwen even comes close to filling his shoes you are mistaken. I don't think Bob McEwen could find his way from Blue Ash (Rick Bryan's house) to Anderson Township (Russ Jackson's house) without a GPS! He is also misleading the voters by claiming he is a Ronald Reagan Republican. Check his prehistoric voting record when Reagan was President - he was no friend of Ronald Reagan's when he voted!

I think Jean Schmidt would be well-served to think things through before she acts. S

he is like a bull in a china shop, and she opens her mouth on the floor of the House or sends out press releases before thinking how clearly ignorant she may look.

I cringe when I hear her talk - she seems condescending and speaks to groups of people as though she is talking to a room full of kindergartners.

Jean's election to Congress was a freak of politics because she was in 4th place just two days before the election (according to Enquirer reports) and surprised everyone who was beating up on each other.

This freak occurrence can now be rectified this May.

Has anyone ever heard of me? You will. I just filed my petitions to run in the second district GOP primary.
