Mallory hires old hand in search for city manager

Mayor-elect Mark Mallory's city manager search consultant is expected to cost $39,000, according to a draft copy of a proposal submitted by Mallory's California headhunting firm.

Read the proposal from Roberts Consulting (.pdf format).

Poor David Pepper, he must still be crushed. All he wants for Christmas is to be mayor. Now his political career is all but ruined.

It just goes to show money can't buy happiness.

Did that article just show that David lied about his time table?

Dean,
Sure sounds like that to me-but if Korte's reporting this, must not be anything that could possibly be construed as negative about Pepper!

Doesn't it seem odd that this consultant would have submitted the same proposal to Pepper before the election? Perhaps Pepper was so sure of winning that he paid the guy to work up a proposal ahead of time.

Already behind schedule and he hasn't even taken office yet!

Anon 5:10- well, excuse Mallory for actually being pragmatic instead of the bogus "Get it done from Day One" mentality of Pepper-
