One for Barack, one for Hillary

When Ohio Democratic Party chairman Chris Redfern announced his picks for the two open Ohio super-delegate slots, it was pretty well a lock that he would pick a Barack Obama supporter and a Hillary Clinton partisan.

That expectation has become reality.

It didn't take long after the May 10 Ohio Democratic Party convention, when the two superdelegates were approved, for Dave Regan, president of SEIU District 1199, to come out for Obama. His union has been on board with Obama for some time now.

This morning, the other super-delegate chosen by Redfern, Cleveland lawyer Craig Bashein, came out for Hillary.

That brings the Ohio superedelegate count to eight for Clinton, seven for Obama and seven up for grabs.

Hillary is going to steal the nomination. BO will be shut out at the convention. What a comeback.

The race is over. Obama is the nominee. Hillary ran a horrible campaign, pure and simple. The best that she can hope for now is VP.

Obama is going to win. Hillary won't even get a VP nod. She's dragging this out so that if Obama loses to McCain she can try to run in 2012.

Why is the Obama superdelegate a "supporter" while the Clinton superdelegate a "partisan"?

at 12:23 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

While Obama is almost certainly going to be the nominee, it is a virtual certainty that the Democratic nominee will be the 44th President of the United States.

Er, um, make that the 43rd elected president and not counting the unelected dictator we've had the last 7+ years.

Just waiting for the Bush Crime Syndicate to cause some national emergency to give them an excuse to postpone the election.

"Supporter"
"Partisan"

Because someone's editor has drilled it into him that you shouldn't use the same word twice in the same sentence. And "partisan" is one of the choices the thesaurus offers, so...

Don't read too much into it.

All of this campaigning is going to be for NOTHING. When the democratic convention arrives, Obama and Hillary are going to get booted and Al Gore will be inserted!

If she won it would be stealing. Because that means she would have gotten in without the peoples actualy vote like Bush did. That would be criminal and a flawed system yet again. All her supporters want her to go STEAL the nomination, kinda undemocratic dont you think. Her supporters are idiots at this point

The anonymous posting from 12:23 PM, May 21, 2008 is the most idioic posting I have ever seen. It's been SEVEN years...>GET OVER IT or MOVE TO FRANCE!

I totally agree with the poster who talked about the idiot racists in WVa and KY (and other states) who could NEVER bring themselves to vote for a Black candidate because of their long standing racism and I am as lily white as they come. The perfect ticket IMHO would be Obama and Hagel.....they couldn't lose. I am sick and tired of the Bush/Clinton merry-go-round and we have to change.......NOW

at 1:44 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

to the 1:26 poster....you move to Friggin France.....it's hard to get over the worst president in the history of time....it will take decades to reverse the harm the idiot shrub has done to this country in those 7 long years and anyone who can't see that is more insane than the shrub himself......

McCain/Portman in 2008!

War hero John McCain will crush that Hamas-endorsed candidate, B. Hussein Obama.

To Steve B--

Your comment is typical Leftistlunacy. History shows (and will continue to show) Jimmy Carter to be the worst US President of all time.

What, did Bush raise the gas prices himself -or- force all the unqualified people into purchasing homes they had no business buying?

Take an economics class or study the Constitution--you may learn something.

In the meantime, can we require a simple IQ test before November? That way, at least half of the idiots Dems (Steve B leading the way) would be forced to sit out this election.

at 2:13 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

McCain is one foot in the grave. I don't want a 71 year old driving my bus, flying my plane or leading my country. Face it the reps are serving him up like they did Dole. BTW, when does being captured automatically make you a "WAR HERO". IMO, means you messed up.

at 2:20 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah right....another disillusioned shrub lover....the Republicans have done a great job on their watch for the last 7 years....they used to be able to crow about how great the economy is/has been but not anymore....and if McCain was such a great soldier how did he get captured. Also don't even get me started on the Vietnam charade otherwise known as Iraq 1. It was another trumped up military for profit crusade, part of America's imperialistic plan for the world....yep the truth hurts..........

Steve B,

My family hails from Vichy Western Virginia, which would qualify me as one of your "idiot racist".

I would take a leave of un-paid absence, and work pro-bono for Walter Williams if he happened to be running for President.

O'bammy INSULTED those people cuz, and maybe these "idiot racists" can see through this false messiah all the way to his puppet-master, the great progressive/socialist satin george soros!!!!!

Wow..Hamas, huh? You couldn't be anymore of a redneck if you tried. Hey, I know, go put your teeth back in, get your car off the blocks in front of your trailer, take the leash off your kid, and go to the library and look up the words "ignorant" and "bigot" and you'll find a picture of yourself..oh wait, you can't read. How silly of me. Why don't you just admit you don't like Barack? It's ok if you don't as long as you have a better reason than the crap you just puked out.

at 3:31 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Get the hate out of your eyes usefullidiot.....I didn't call all residents of West Virginia and Kentucky idiots as there are many many great people in both states.....but in my opinion if you are a racist then you ARE an idiot no matter where you live....by now (21st Century) if people can't look beyond a person's color or religion then they are idiots in the true sense of the word. In my younger years I was an idiot too but I grew up and you should try it also.

Lucy, or is it Lucyfer, I am not a Democrat and never have been. I am an Independent with an IQ probably higher than yours so spare me your smart ass remarks. Oh and I'm sure you are a Constitutional expert. The terrible events of the last 7 years happened while the shrub was the leader of the country (HA)so yes he is responsible. Typical loser, you want credit for any good that has happened but won't also accept responsibility for the bad. Now go back to the drive thru window and quit wasting time.......and for the other loser poster.... satin is a material and Satan is the Vice President....Got it? Good!

steve b,

So if we subscribe to your ideology, than we could deduce that you feel the same way about O'bamma's 20 year minister,Lois Farrakhan etc, etc?

Would that be fair?

BTW Stevie honey,

I don't believe I mentioned race or religion.

The last time I looked, having an opposing political view had nothing to do with racism or bigotry!!

I doubt you'd know for sure, Steve, just by reading a few short sentences, that you have a higher IQ than Lucy, or anyone else on here for that matter. We can argue on and on about who the worst president of all time was, or we can talk about who is the best candidate to win the next presidency. I'm not sure myself right now if it's McCain or Obama, but it's certainly not Clinton.

You've missed Paul Morison, the former AG and abortion-defender of Kansas, who just recently had to resign in disgrace after campaigning on ethics.

You also missed ex-Durham County DA Mike Nifong, whose mishandling of the Duke Lacrosse rape case is now a classroom model for how NOT to conduct a prosecutorial investigation.

You missed former Congressman Mel Reynolds who went to jail for having sex with an underage girl.

There's also Congressman Jim Traficant who is in jail on corruption charges. Traficant was such a partisan Democrat that he switched to independent just before he was indicted so he would not sully the Democratic name.

Remember Gary Condit? He was a Democratic Congressman until the voters themselves turned him out of office in the 2002 primary, nearly a year after his name was linked to a young lady whose body was found in a park in Goergetown.

How about Tony Coelho and Jim Wright, the then top-two members of the Democrats' House caucus who both were forced to resign for ethical misconduct less than two years after their fellow Democrats voted them into such esteemed positions?

You also forgot Robert Toricelli, AKA "The Torch" Democrat Senator from New Jersey who refused to resign when asked to do so and hand-picked his replacement on the ballot.

Hey, I am probably missing some, too!

Oops! I forgot to mention these disgraced democRATS:

Ex-Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards - currently serving a 10 year prison sentence on racketeering charges.

B.J. Clinton's Housing & Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros: In December 1997, Cisneros was indicted on 18 counts of conspiracy, giving false statements and obstruction of Justice.

Rep. Jack Murtha, Abscam participant who saved himself by testifying against Frank Thompson (D-NJ) and John Murphy (D-NY), the two Congressmen mentioned as participants in the Abscam deal at the same meeting and who were later videotaped placing the cash bribes in their trousers.

B.J. Clinton's national security advisor Sandy Berger, caught illegally removing classified documents from the National Archives.

Senator Chuck Robb of Virginia:
In 1991, Robb admitted that he had spent time with former Miss Virginia USA Tai Collins alone in a hotel room during the time he was governor in the 1980s. However, he denied having an affair with her, merely — and somewhat improbably — admitting to sharing a bottle of champagne and receiving a nude massage. Collins later told Playboy magazine that the two had been having an affair since 1983. There were also rumors that during the time he was governor, Robb was present at parties where cocaine was used. He strongly denied this when the issue was raised during his 1988 campaign for the U.S. Senate. Robb so vehemently denied the cocaine allegation that he claimed to not even know what cocaine looked like.

Rep. Dan Rostenkowski, corrupt Chicago machine politician:
In 1994, he was indicted on corruption charges for his key role in the House post office scandal. He was forced to step down from all Congressional leadership positions. In elections later that year, Rostenkowski lost his seat and retired from political life. Charges against Rostenkowski included keeping "ghost" employees on his payroll, using Congressional funds to buy gifts such as chairs and ashtrays for friends, and trading in officially purchased stamps for cash at the House post office[1]. In 1996, he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of mail fraud. He was fined and was sentenced to 17 months in prison, of which he served 15 months.

Rep. Gerry Studds, Massachusetts:
Depraved democRAT who had sexual relations with a 17 year old *male* congressional page. Studds was censured by the House of Representatives.

There's a whole list of B.J. Clinton cabinet members/associates that I left out.
