About that 'Girls Gone Wild' rumor...

We're not the first to report about a Statehouse videotape in which former state Rep. Geoff Smith, a Republican from Upper Arlington, teases state Democratic Reps. Steve Driehaus of Price Hill and Todd Book of Portsmouth.

The Whistleblower newswire published an item on the alleged "Girls Gone Wild" episode in March here:

But to put persistent rumormongering to bed, readers can listen to Smith's rant in December 2006 here. Fair warning that his brief reference to a night out on the town with the "boys," in this case Driehaus and Book, is more than an hour into the Ohio House session, as Smith gives a farewell speech after his November defeat.

Driehaus explained Smith was asking women for kisses one night, while at a bar. According to Driehaus, Smith would tell female patrons that he and his legislative colleagues were "the advance team" for the "Girls Gone Wild" company that shoots video of vacationing college coeds.

During his House floor speech, Smith says who could forget "the little stint'' with Snoop Dogg and the "Girls Gone Wild" episode.

"Those pictures have been destroyed,'' Smith proclaims to howls in the House chamber.

Another right-wing smear debunked.

Perhaps the Reich Wing Repugnicants could try to campaign based on facts and a defense of their record.

Oh wait. They'd lose if they tried that.

Character assassination is the last refuse of the scoundrels. Actually, with Larry Craig, David Vitter, Bob Taft, Bob Ney, Mark Foley, and Tom Noe on their side, this may not be a wise strategy either.

Game over, wingnuts. Guess you'll be trying to find a job in that "free market" you Reich Wingers like to hype so much. Although I can't see how being a Reich Wing smear artist will be useful to any employer whatsoever.

Oh, well, there's always that minimum-wage Wal-Mart job you think former factory workers should be thankful for having when their Reich Wing employers use your Recih Wing tax incentives to send their job overseas.

This is going to be so much fun. I almost wish the Dems hadn't raised the minimum wage for you Neoclowns. I would love to be watching you Dittoheads try to get by on $5.15 an hour. Then again, you wingnuts always have rich mommies and daddies to help you out.

Was there any truth to the rumor that Marc Dann was there too?

Steve Driehaus, proudly representing our West Side values!

Gosh, it makes me miss our more "mature" candidates like Cranley and Harris. Very classy Driehaus.

Was this night out a Driehaus fundraiser headlined by Marc Dann?

The democRAT party....home of:

Depraved democRAT Marc Dann

Male brothel host and gay Congressman Barney Frank

New Jersey Governor "I am a gay American" Jim McGreevey

New York Governor "Client No. 9" Eliot Spitzer

William Jefferson, corrupt New Orleans Congressman caught w/ $50,000 in bribes in his freezer

Soon-to-be deposed Detroit hip-hop mayor Kwame Kilpatrick

Philandering Los Angeles democRAT mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy, killer of Mary Jo Kopechne

B.J. Clinton, rapist of Juanita Broaddrick

And this is just a spur-of-the-moment list. I'm sure I've missed some depraved democRATS.

You've missed Paul Morison, the former AG and abortion-defender of Kansas, who just recently had to resign in disgrace after campaigning on ethics.

You also missed ex-Durham County DA Mike Nifong, whose mishandling of the Duke Lacrosse rape case is now a classroom model for how NOT to conduct a prosecutorial investigation.

You missed former Congressman Mel Reynolds who went to jail for having sex with an underage girl.

There's also Congressman Jim Traficant who is in jail on corruption charges. Traficant was such a partisan Democrat that he switched to independent just before he was indicted so he would not sully the Democratic name.

Remember Gary Condit? He was a Democratic Congressman until the voters themselves turned him out of office in the 2002 primary, nearly a year after his name was linked to a young lady whose body was found in a park in Goergetown.

How about Tony Coelho and Jim Wright, the then top-two members of the Democrats' House caucus who both were forced to resign for ethical misconduct less than two years after their fellow Democrats voted them into such esteemed positions?

You also forgot Robert Toricelli, AKA "The Torch" Democrat Senator from New Jersey who refused to resign when asked to do so and hand-picked his replacement on the ballot.

Hey, I am probably missing some, too.

I love that Driehaus is discussing how this was going on and did nothing to stop it. Isn't he married with children, what was he doing at a bar asking girls for kisses with his "boys". Sounds like a "moral democrat" to me.

at 2:32 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow, all that sounds real mature. And this is the guy who wants to represent us in DC?

at 3:05 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

This racist right wing rag would help promote the vile rightwing filth called the whistle blower.

at 3:06 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Voters ought to be very wary of these kind of actions and vote accordingly this November. Some will try to sweep these kinds of things under the rug and say it's no big deal, but this is the same behavior Marc Dann was exhibiting before becoming AG (and, of course, after election).

Treating women as objects cannot and should not be tolerated or joked about. I don't particularly like Chabot, but at least his morals and values cannot be challenged.

Driehaus should be ashamed.

at 3:21 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

The question needs to be asked, what was Driehaus's role in this? What did he do in this mess? Was it just the one fella asking for kisses? What does Mrs. Driehaus think of this whole situation? If he's playing paddycake with girls in Columbus, what's he going to do if he gets to DC?

at 3:29 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

So this is what Driehaus has been up to in Columbus? I guess bar hopping and harrasing women are higher priorities for him than actual legislating.

at 4:03 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Excuse me, but it was Smith -- a Republican -- who was asking for kisses.

at 4:22 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thanks 2:20 - I forgot to mention these disgraced democRATS:

Ex-Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards - currently serving a 10 year prison sentence on racketeering charges.

B.J. Clinton's Housing & Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros: In December 1997, Cisneros was indicted on 18 counts of conspiracy, giving false statements and obstruction of Justice.

Rep. Jack Murtha, Abscam participant who saved himself by testifying against Frank Thompson (D-NJ) and John Murphy (D-NY), the two Congressmen mentioned as participants in the Abscam deal at the same meeting and who were later videotaped placing the cash bribes in their trousers.

B.J. Clinton's national security advisor Sandy Berger, caught illegally removing classified documents from the National Archives.

Senator Chuck Robb of Virginia:
In 1991, Robb admitted that he had spent time with former Miss Virginia USA Tai Collins alone in a hotel room during the time he was governor in the 1980s. However, he denied having an affair with her, merely — and somewhat improbably — admitting to sharing a bottle of champagne and receiving a nude massage. Collins later told Playboy magazine that the two had been having an affair since 1983. There were also rumors that during the time he was governor, Robb was present at parties where cocaine was used. He strongly denied this when the issue was raised during his 1988 campaign for the U.S. Senate. Robb so vehemently denied the cocaine allegation that he claimed to not even know what cocaine looked like.

Rep. Dan Rostenkowski, corrupt Chicago machine politician:
In 1994, he was indicted on corruption charges for his key role in the House post office scandal. He was forced to step down from all Congressional leadership positions. In elections later that year, Rostenkowski lost his seat and retired from political life. Charges against Rostenkowski included keeping "ghost" employees on his payroll, using Congressional funds to buy gifts such as chairs and ashtrays for friends, and trading in officially purchased stamps for cash at the House post office[1]. In 1996, he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of mail fraud. He was fined and was sentenced to 17 months in prison, of which he served 15 months.

Rep. Gerry Studds, Massachusetts:
Depraved democRAT who had sexual relations with a 17 year old *male* congressional page. Studds was censured by the House of Representatives.

There's a whole list of B.J. Clinton cabinet members/associates that I left out.

at 7:16 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh sweet, naive Jane. Of course Driehaus wasn't "asking for kisses." A group of guys (or elected representatives) that go to a bar pretending to be advance guys for Girls Gone Wild are not looking for, or asking for, anything. They just want to have a quiet drink, some conversation, and then retire to their homes, by themselves, to get a good night sleep...that must have been what all the giggling was about when reference was made to it on the Statehouse floor.

at 7:50 PM, May 21, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Marc Dann was known for carousing around bars in C-bus while he was in the statehouse...

striking similarities. I heard they were buddies but did not know they were that good of friends.

This is the lamest story ever. I bet if you tracked the IP addresses of the posters in this thread, you will only find two unique numbers.

That those two posters actually think that this is relevant to the election is insane.

*yawn*

I'm bored with this story already.

I like a cocktail as much as the next man but when I got married and had kids, I figured it was time to quit pounding drinks with my buddies and hitting on girls in bars. Call me old-fashioned, I guess.

I think I'll stick with Mr. Chabot this year. He's always shown a lot of class and I don't have to worry about him giving the West Side a black eye.

"Girls Gone Wild" indeed.

Anon 12:50 PM, May 21, 2008: lol at your tired, boring, cut-and-paste posts with made up words. Lots of bitterness there. Don't be jealous - get off your couch and get yourself a job so you can be rich just like the mommies and daddies you hate so much. Maybe then you'll see that Democrats are just as bad as, if not worse than Republicans when it comes to character.

What a sad life you must lead, harboring so much hate.

Did you see the juvenile 'photo' site that the little right wing children put up?

The biggest joke is that IT WAS A REPUBLICAN WHO WAS GOING AROUND ASKING GIRLS FOR KISSES NOR DRIEHAUS.

I can't believe that the Enquire would quote a disreputable source such as the corpulent, morbidly obese, hate mongering rumour king Schifrin. This is a new low for the Fishwrap.

at 4:17 PM, May 22, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

You refered to the Enquirer as the "Fishwrap." Sounds like someone has been reading the newswire he loves to hate.

Uh, so i dont get want the big deal is.

Chabot is looking pretty desperate if this is all he's got.

Its pretty clear this is it for Chabot, given that the Obama will mean a heavy turnout in OH-1. Chabot would have lost in 2006 if the district would have had turnout similar to 2004.

An interesting rumor I heard the other day was that Driehaus opposed Bob Mecklenborg's English-only bill because he had spent 3 months and hundreds of dollars on those Rosetta Stone DVDs so he could learn how to say "Show me your breasts!" in 15 different languages.
