Chris Monzel will be representing the taxpayers.

Chris Bortz will be representing moneyed special interests.

Chris Bortz needs to be tarred and feather and run out of town with David Pepper.

Is the debate about who owns more property around the "streetcar" line, Schneider or Bortz?

The anonymous liberal losers were right! There were only 5 fat, bald guys there.

However, there were about 55 other people, too! :)

Here's a little ditty for all you Young Repugs getting sloshed at Monty's:

These Tough Guys are all enlistees in the 101st Blogging Chickenhawks, 1st Keyboard Commandos Division. They have to exsisting in layers of cheetos dust, living amongst inhuman conditions in their parents basements. Let us sing a lament for them:

Ballad of the Chickenhawks
(To the tune of “The Ballad of the Green Berets” by Barry Sadler and Robin Moore)

Fighting soldiers, each day die
Fearless men killed for a lie
Men who must in danger walk
Just to please the Chickenhawks

Chorus:
Yellow bellies, shaky nerves
These are men who didn’t serve
As hundreds more die in Iraq
No danger here for the Chickenhawks

Born to live off others sweat
Loving war, ain’t seen it yet
Men who want war round the clock
Courage lacks in the Chickenhawks
(Chorus)

Back at home more wars to plan
A Chickenhawk feels like a man
The widows who are now left
Crying out this last request

Put yellow wings on my son’s chest
His father was America’s best
He never will in danger walk
If he is a Chickenhawk

Who is Scott Gering?!

The debate began with a very drunk man asking irrelevant questions and then had uber-Republican Melva grabbing the microphone and babbling non-sense, all the while forgetting to ask a question.

That pretty much sums up the quality of questions asked from the audience. If the majority of questions came from Republicans last night, I have to admit, I was
embarassed to be a Republican and I know many others in attendance were as well too.

As for the debate- Monzel reiterated that he was an engineer, and that he's great with numbers. What he didn't say was the Bortz is a developer and great with developments.

Also, Monzel stated that we should conduct a trial run where we paint a street car line in the street and dress up a trolley, have it run for 6 months and then see what happens. Monzel said something about how engineers like models.

Well, despite liking models, nobody ever built a mock stadium on Broadway Commons and then said, well, let's see how many people come down for this and how many people will invest in the area because a cardboard stadium was built here.

That's because a model doesn't capture the essence of what a streetcar brings to the table. It is not necessarily ridership but the secondary effects- DEVELOPMENT that will arise on both sides of the fixed track.

I just can't fathom how fellow Republicans could be so close-minded, especially when it comes to a money generating opportunity.

Bort$ is a fine developer so long as there is a taxpayer subsidy greasing the wheels and his waxing palm.

at 9:06 AM, April 29, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Last night was a great event. Monzel and Bortz each did a good job presenting their side of the streetcar issue, and the Blue Chip Young Republicans once again broke their all-time attendance record for a club meeting. The 2nd time this year they've broken that record.

6:57, it's odd to see you refer to your "fellow Republicans" as closed-minded. They're the ones who put together this two-sided forum. They made sure to get an excellent speaker from both sides rather than rigging it one way or the other. And they opened the mic up to anyone and everyone who wanted to ask a question or make a statement. There were plenty of good questions coming from both sides of the debate.

You seem to be one of these "open-minded" people who has no respect for any opinion besides your own. Please don't come back. The club doesn't need closed-minded people like you ruining what is now a large, diverse, and open-minded club.

11:30 - one of the club members was unable to attend last night, as he is in the military currently serving in Iraq. Since you seem fit to refer to others as chickenhawks, I'm sure you sent in that post from Iraq or Afghanistan, right?

Hey 11:30
I guess you've been punked so much that you won't post as the Cheviot Idiot anymore. Nor Cincy Capped.
I think what goes around has come around to you and you remain the laughingstock of your office.
What about the "business" you own?
Did the liberals raise your corporate taxation too high?

Maybe the City should look into the idea of saving money instead of spending what they don't have. The next best idea coming out of Plum street, will be to buy P&G's twin towers and turn them into Section 8 housing development. Why spend all of this money for a street car when we had them 30 plus years ago. What's next? A tram from Northern Kentucky across the river? Maybe they can contact Jungle Jim's and see if his tram settuo is for sale.

at 11:57 AM, April 29, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

9:54's comment about the P&G towers has some merit. We could move the sec.8 housers to the towers and Western Hills could have a chance to get back to its former safe and beautiful state.
We would welcome the displaced P&G people with education and ambition to the West Side. Citizens will real careers and money could rejuvenate the area.

Gosh, didn't think we would ever agree with a wRong wingnut whacko, but, Mon-zealot is wRight !

The city should rent a double decker bus and run the route for 90 days !

Since, there may be some nostalgia with a street car, a double decker bus would spark that tourism curiosity as well !

Great suggestion Chris !

I have been saying this for awhile. Connect the Banks to NOTL. (If NOTL is still there when the Banks is finished)

Latest rumor: I heard that disgraced former staffer Scott Gehring showed up, but then immediately turned around and left Monty's. Since there were about 60 people in attendance last night, he must have assumed he was at another club's event. When Scott ran the Blue Chip Young Republicans, he could only get around 10-15 people to show up for meetings.

at 4:37 PM, April 29, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, Scott Gehring ran the Blue Chip YRs all right....into the ground !!!

Gehring nearly destroyed the Blue Chip YRs. The truth is that the Blue Chip YRs were about to throw Scott out on his ear, but he "resigned" before that could happen. He has a long history of "resigning." Just ask Leslie Ghiz. Maybe he's really an undercover Democrat agent. I wouldnt put it past either Scott or the donkey party !!!

at 9:35 PM, April 29, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Can you all please get over Scott Gehring? He is no long associated with your club and he is no longer running for state rep. I don't know if he was a victim of his own ego or of mob rule, but either way Blue Chippers are looking pretty stupid continuing to pile on.

Jeff Capell sock puppet @ 9:23,

I'm in sunny LA on business this week, eating at some great restaurants, but I'm glad to hear that your obsession with me continues unabated. By the way, you live in Blue Ash, and are not entitled to pipe up on what he do in our City.

I'm staying at the Beverly Wilshire until Friday, so if you think that you know who I am, feel free to give me a call.

Love,

CincyCapell

When do you ever spend time on your "business"?
Maybe Cheviot Idiot can handle things while you're away? OOPS.
He with you too.

9:35, just because someone with the username "anonymous" trashes Gehring doesn't mean it came from a Blue Chip YR. They've moved on from Gehring and successfully rebuilt their club.

If you haven't noticed, there's a wide variety of people who post here. And Gehring has managed to alienate most of them. The universe of people who might be trashing him is quite large.

It's always highly suspicious when some pathetic individual like cincycappell [AKA cheviot sports idiot] becomes obsessed with someone else's life. Cincycappell ought to switch his online name to Mark David Chapman or John Hinckley Jr.

It sounds like cincycapell is hiding in the same closet as Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Use your real name if you're going to attack someone else by his real name. Otherwise, you're just another gutless coward sitting behind a computer monitor.

How Do You Like Us Now, Anonymous Losers?

Jeff, you will soon learn the hard way that sucking up to fringe elements in a fringe party will get you nowhere. Unfortunately, you will take this once-great organization into the gutter and down the drain with you.

It doesn't matter who started what. The backstabbers [you know who you are] and Whistleblower snitches [Michael Harlow, Jeff Capell, etc.] don't like it very much when the truth is spoken about them. Watch the Blue Chip Young Republicans continue to sink into irrelevance under them.
It's sad to see the once-great Blue Chip Young Republicans air their dirty laundry in public. It's the fault of Jeff Capell and Michael Harlow. That's how they operate. Backstabbers and snitches are now running this group.

It's been nothing but constant whining from these two idiots over the last couple of years. Anonymous whining through their official mouthpiece the Whistleblower, that is. Jeff Capell and Michael Harlow have driven away normal people from this group, never to return. The inmates are now running the asylum.

Great dweedle-dum and dweedle-dummer leading the pack. God help the GOP with these clowns in charge
11:43 PM, November 20, 2007
Anon 11:27AM is Capell patting himself on the back. And why not, he's the leader of a fringe group which is part of a party that's about to lose all of it's power across the Nation in the next election. WOW! Well done Jeffy. Once DeWhine looses (which he will) and Schmidt (or a Dem) kicks filthy Phil Heimlich's corrupt arse you will be laughably irrelevant, as opposed to being merely completely irrelevant as you are now.

Who could forget this classic post from an "anonymous" Scott Gehring:

at 8:08 AM, October 18, 2007 Anonymous said...
Scott Gehring is a savvy political newcomer who is going to turn local politics on its head before you know it. He is admired by politicos in all three parties, and if the right-wing drunks in the Cow Chip Young Reactionaries can't see that, they will be left behind. This group hasn't done a thing in Cincinnati politics in 15 years. Scott tried to get them involved in actually making an effort to change things in Cincinnati, and they gave him the boot. They are too partisan for the good of Cincinnati.

[Or maybe his sockpuppet of a spouse, Jen Winkelman, posted it. Same difference!]

Jeffy, your obsession with me is touching, if not disturbing. If you had an inkling of who I am, you would be screaming it all over the blogospere. You haven't a clue. Meanwhile, I know who you are, where you live, work and even where you drink. I have had drinks with you on more than one occasion Jeffy.
