Schmidt touts The List

Rep. Jean Schmidt's re-election campaign shot out a press release today touting the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's list of candidates named to the party's Red to Blue program.

That's not something you see that often. A Republican congresswoman touting a memo from the Democratic Party.

In this case, however, Schmidt had good reason to cheer.

The Democrat's left her opponent, Victoria Wulsin, off of the list of candidates facing GOP incumbents who they are really pushing for big time.

Read our blog about that yesterday HERE.

In any case... Schmidt's campaign said the decision to leave Wulsin off the list shows that Democrats are abandoning Wulsin.

“This is a stunning change of course for the DCCC, and shows that they have lost faith in Dr.
Wulsin’s ability to win in the Second Congressional District,” said Schmidt campaign spokesman Bruce Pfaff.

Pfaff added: “Congresswoman Schmidt has proven to her constituents that she represents their issues, and the decision by the DCCC to remove the Second Congressional District from its targeted race list is a strong testament to that fact.”

To be fair, when the DCCC was asked about why Wulsin wasn't included on the list, spokesman Ryan Rudominder said Wulsin still could be included in the program later on.

He also had this to say about Schmidt:

“Ohioans from across the political spectrum will reject Mean Jean this November, because of her lousy record of rubberstamping President Bush and her wild antics in Congress. Vic Wulsin will put Ohio’s middle-class first in Congress and not the special interests.”

This is absolutely hilarious. Does Schmidt actually think this is worth bragging about? This shows just how low her expectations are. She's a joke.

For your information, Jean... The Rothenberg Political Report thinks you're vulnerable. CQ Politics thinks you're vulnerable. The Cook Political Report thinks you're vulnerable.

Just because there are other Republicans in worse shape than you, doesn't mean it's time for you to throw a parade.

What a moron.

Is Mean Jean a complete moron or not? She touts it as a success that she's not on the first wave of the DCCC target list.

So later, when this race does get added to their target list, Schmidt gets to look like a fool. Mean Jean is used to being a fool, and this time it may cost Republicans a seat in Congress.

6:50 pm, you and every other report, summary, group, party and pundit on the bloody, blinking planet can talk about Congresswoman Jean Schmidt being "vulnerable," and it won't amount to a hill of beans come November. She's weathered every storm, including the ones she inadvertently made for herself, and won five elections since June, 2005. She'll beat Wulsin again, but this time the margin will be 6-8 points. Set your watch by it, wise guy.

anon 6:50..

you DO realize that Steve Chabot is on those lists as well, correct?

and if we want to talk about wild antics, lets talk about wulsin's human experimentation in Africa. she's currently being investigated for a slew of ethics violations, and the word on the street is that it won't be good for her once the verdict comes.

Hack reporterette Malia Rulon must have been gnashing her teeth the entire time she wrote this, given how much Malia hates Congresswoman Schmidt.

Someone tell Wacky Wulsin's idiotic spokesmouth Ryan Rudominder that he's paid to come up with original material.

The COASTers have been throwing the "Mean Jean" moniker around for the last 5+ years. It's dated, inaccurate, and ineffective. Just ask COASTer Tom Brinkman, who was destroyed by Jean Schmidt in the primary.

Next time come up with something fresh, Ryan, or go back to picking up Wacky Wulsin's dry cleaning!

Wacky Wulsin is also known as 'Icky Vicky' by those AIDS patients she conducts unnecessary experiments on.

Perhaps Schmidt isn't on the list because the Dems have already figured out she is as a good as gone without any special prodding from them.

So Hackett thinks she has gotten better at the public aspects of her job, and she pulls something like this?

Please she's just trying to get her ugly mugshot some more press time. Use it up while you can because you will soon be unemployed in a city where most people HATE you and your party.

Republican donors take notice. Support a real Republican and contribute to Chabot's campaign.

Jean apparently doesn't need the money.
