Lawmakers react to Rove resignation

House Republican Leader John Boehner of West Chester made this comment about the resignation yesterday of top White House aide Karl Rove:

"Karl Rove has served the President and the American people with dedication and distinction since 2001, and while he'll certainly be missed by his colleagues at the White House, I'm sure he and his family are looking forward to spending some well-deserved time together in Texas. Karl has my thanks for all of his years of inspired public service, and he and the entire Rove family have my very best wishes for the future."

Rep. Geoff Davis, a Republican from Hebron, Ky., had this comment:

"Karl Rove is a brilliant political strategist who has worked tenaciously for the success of the Republican Party for decades. His hard work and enthusiasm for spirited campaigns will not soon be forgotten. I wish him the best of luck."

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Louisville had this comment:

"Karl Rove has made an enormous contribution to our country and our party. Now, as he leaves the White House and turns to new challenges, I wish him and his family well as they begin this new chapter in their lives."

KKKarl Rove belongs in jail with the rest of the Bush Administration, the Repugnicants in Congress, and the criminal enterprise that was running this state into the ground.

Perhaps President Hillary Clinton will have her Attorney General investigate the entire GOP as a corrupt organization under the RICO statutes, which will involve seizing all of their assets. Once the low-level officials start turning over on the higher ones, and once their media mouthpieces see the light, too, this criminal enterprise calling itself the Republican Party will be closed, padlocked, and fumigated.

I am interested to see if he his resignation will tie in to any further 'news' concerning the Jack Abramoff scandal.

(One of his close aides, Susan Ralston, is implicated....some major hot water --and the only reason she is of any signifcance is because of her tie to Karl Rove)

Karl Rove is guilty of treason! He's ducking congressional investigations and is responsible for dividing our nation and getting us into the quagmire in Iraq.

Hey, Malia,

You know, there are Dems in Congress, too. You might try them for a quote sometime instead of the local W-enablers.

Anon 2:03 pm, did you miss the 2006 elections? Rove and the rest of your Repugnicant buddies got their heads handed to them.

And w3 are coming back for the rest of the incompetent crooks in 2008. Bush will be gone thanks to the Constitution (this might be the only time he respects it), but we are coming back for you, Steve Chabot! We are coming back for you, Tom Brinkman! We are coming back for you, Jean Schmidt! We are coming back for you, Mike Turner! We are coming back for you, Pat DeWine! We are cleaning out the Municipal Court bench and all the patronage hacks working for it this November! In 2008, we are coming for you, Greg Hartmann! We are coming for you Joe Deters! And we will be each and everyone of the judges and their wives, their relatives and cronies! No more slow, incompetent rude Republican campaign cronies in the Courthouse! No more having a job that pays 50K a year for 30 hours of work just because of your last name!

And we are cleaning out the state government as we speak. Jaws will drop at the number and level of Repugnicants under indictment in the next 6 months.
