One more Athlete Among Us

This probably comes as no surprise... But Rep. Jean Schmidt also took part in last weekend's Flying Pig festivities.

And unlike the three Hamilton County Commissioners, she actually ran the WHOLE marathon, although at the Half Marathon mark (13.1 miles) she was outpaced by Commissioner Pat DeWine, who finished the Half Marathon in one hour and 39 minutes. Schmidt reached that point at two hours and two minutes.

But while DeWine, and Commissioners David Pepper and Todd Portune were relaxing after their races, the Miami Township Republican was still running, and running, and running.

Schmidt finished the 26.2-mile race in four hours, eight minutes and 15 seconds.

See more race results HERE.

Who in Mean Jean's office had so little time on their hands, that they had to call the Enquirer and make sure she got credit for running, too? She hasn't accomplished anything in congress, so fastest woman in the House of Representatives is her legacy.

Jean Schmidt the only elected official in Cincinnati that represents the common people.

I can't tell - was that last anonymous comment sarcastic? It is so ridiculous that I have to say so.

I must be getting old, I used to be better at spotting things like that

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt has more heart than any 20 Democrats (or COASTers) put together. I defy any of the cutsy-wutsy commenters on this blog to accomplish anything close to what she has and does. Run 26.2 miles?! Most of her detractors probably get winded dashing out to the fridge for a cold one during CNN commercials. Win four elections within a 17-month timeframe between June, 2005, and November, 2006 during a generally negative period for Republicans?! I doubt that any of the host of wannabes she defeated (Brinkman, McEwen, DeWine, Hackett, Wulsin) could come close to passing an endurance test like that. The good Congresswoman is called "Mean Jean" by her antagonists and enemies for good reason: she beats them regularly in both foot races and congressional elections.
Keep on winning, Jean! We love ya!

It's good practice for when Mean Jean has to run from her record as a tax hiker and big spender. Just keep running Jean.
