Laketa: People don't care about the 'FF' label

Laketa Cole, one of the five council members referred to during budgeting time as being part of the Fiscal Five majority, says that label doesn't hurt her or help her.

"My constituents - and by that I mean the African-American community - don't care about the Fiscal Five. That doesn't mean anything to them."

What they will notice big-time, she says, is if she isn't consistent, if she doesn't follow through on what she promises to do. That's a reference, of course, to the vote Monday on arts funding.

"I fought for that money in the budget," she said. "They will let me know if I don't stick to it."

So, Laketa admits she doesn't represent people who aren't African-American????

Wow! Imagine the outrage if Chris Monzel said he only reprsented white people!

So Cole only represents black Cincinnatians? That's nice.

I thought that, as a resident of the city, I was her constituent. I guess since I am not black, I dont matter to Ms. Cole. Well, I guess she wont care that she wont get my vote. I hope that all non blacks see she doesnt care about them and dont vote for her. i am so disappointed. I used to like her.

why are you guys control the conversation not linking up the more interesting and controversial topics like the hispanic community standing up to wlw, FOX'S announcement, the charges regarding Heimlich, etc?

Instead you've dummied down the blog to limit the exchange of information????

Nice tactic

Their going to let her know that voting to slash the health and human services budget goes against the peoples interest. So does her vote for the marijuan ordinance.

I'm sure her good buddy can get her a job with the Bengals though.

It sounds like Laketa is saying that white people aren't part of her constituency. There's no place on Council for racists like Mrs. Smitherman........I mean Ms. Cole.

Yeah right, Laketa. "Your" constituents don't care that you slashed the health department and tried to shut down health clinics. "Your" constituents don't care that you tried to end social service programs while saying the opposite.

Does Laketa care about what the other fiscal phonies say about her behind her back???

Why does Laketa think her constituents are only members of the "African-American community"? Last I checked, city council members in Cincinnati were elected by the entire city, not just certain racial demographics.

If the Republicans are serious about taking back Council, they should pool some of their resources to attack vulnerable Dem's. I think ads & direct mail against Crowley, Cole and Thomas that use their idiotic quotes against them would prevent them from getting re-elected. They might also include Cooper in the mix, who quite literally isn't fit to serve.

Crowley votes against a resolution granting parole for a cop killer; Cole says she only serves black constituents (WEBN), but then votes to shut down health clinics (WIZ); Thomas . . . well, just about everything he says.

Laketa .... since you represent 50% of the city will you please help us deliver on the $130 million dollars in revenue bonds you are responsible for that was given to the Cincinnati Empowerment Corporation (CEC).

Under our plan we will buy houses, build homes and remodel buildings in the Empowerment Zone and city for 20,000 families over the next two years with national partners.

In June we will deliver to Port Authority our request and use of proceeds. Oh... we have buyers for the debt.

We remember you when you worked for the CEC.

"...Laketa: People don't care about the 'FF' label..."

And, when it comes to the Dem party, the co-LABORATOR doesn't care about the "UNION" label either !

PATHETIC !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE "NO" on coll 2007 !
