Mallory Hearts Oysters
Jane Prendergast reports:
Mayor Mark Mallory is a big fan of downtown’s new McCormick & Schmick’s on Fountain Square. He eats there a lot.
Today, though, the trip had a purpose beyond the mayor’s desire for fried oysters, which he ordered and declared "excellent." He met with the restaurant chain's regional managers to talk about the restaurant’s success in a spot where some critics said there wouldn’t be enough business downtown to keep such a place in the black.
He learned at the meeting that Cincinnati delivered the corporation its strongest opening in years, second only to Baltimore. The company started more than 30 years ago in Portland and now operates about 40 restaurants across the U.S. Cincinnati’s opened in November.
"I think that tells a story of the strength and vitality of downtown Cincinnati," Mallory said. "People do want to be there."

slow news day?
hardly a slow news day. we finally got our first head on a pole in the form of libby being found guilty on 4 of 5 counts including the most serious one.
how about a new thread to discuss the beginning of the end for this evil administration?
impeach, indict & imprison, I doubt that the Enquirer management want this evil administration to end. The republican run FCC has been very kind to Gannett and the entire media consolidation agenda. Gotta control what the peasants read ya know.
had everyone in the clinton administration been convicted for having a bad memory, they'd all be rotting in prison right now.
maybe scooter should have had sex with a fat jewish intern?
slow news day?
You really should read the newspaper for the latest news, not the newspaper's blog.
"...slow news day? You really should read the newspaper for the latest news, not the newspaper's blog...."
Oh yes, "the fishwRap" is the best place to get the wRong wingnut whacko's press release !
PATHETIC !
HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !
Mr. Bold Font:
Your comment has absolutely no relevance to the post you quoted. What does voting Democrat have to do with the newspaper? I didn't realize that their employees were elected officials.
In addition, you really need to get some new schtick. Posting the same made up words over and over again is boring, and exposes you as a small-brained individual who is incapable of coming up with an original thought. Clever misspellings and trite catchphrases don't inspire people. If anything, your tired act turns people off to the agenda you are trying to promote.
I know what your response to this comment will be. It will certainly include the words "dung", "fishwRap", "wRong wingnut whacko", "pathetic", and "vote democrat 2007." See - predictability is also boring.
"... If anything, your tired act turns people off to the agenda you are trying to promote...."
Thanks for playing "follow the leader" !
Seems the, no ideas of their own, blogger would prefer to become the "follower" of "bold endeavors" rather than address any specific issues of the post !
PATHETIC !
HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !
Darn - I also forgot to bring up your terrible grasp of proper use of punctuation and unnecessary use of quotation marks.
But I digress.
Your comment still has no relevance. I believe I did address the specific issues of the post to which I was responding - that is, your tired act, and your attempt to create some sort of link between the quality of the Enquirer's reporting with voting Democrat in 2007. That link, by the way, still has not been established.
So, you are now deflecting - predictably, I might add - my spot-on analysis of your posting style. It's the equivalent of covering your ears and shouting.
If, by saying that I "would prefer to become the 'follower" of "bold endeavors" rather than address any specific issues of the post' you mean that I didn't talk about our mayor's eating habits - well, OK. You got me. The comment drips of irony, though, since you haven't done it either.
That, to me, is what is truly pathetic.
