Ha ha ha. This is so great to see. Looks like the business community has finally figured out the Repugnicants are bad for business. I am so glad to see them getting beghind the correct team- the Democrats.
I don't think any Repugnicant is going to be able to get elected to anything in Ohio for quite some time.
If the Democrats grow a pair and start investigating and prosecuting, the Repugnicant Party as we know it will (thankfully) go out of business.
That is unless "quite some time" means last years election. The statehouse is still Republican as well as the new state auditor and our judges. Republicans also held on to Chabot's and Schmidt's seats as well as some others. Don't overreact to a down election for Republicans.
Never underestimate the ability of any political party to shoot itself in the foot. Democrats are more than capable of screwing up their good fortune as we all have seen in the past. Everybody is corrupt, not just one party. The only difference is who benefits from the corruption.
Dick Weiland $25,000??!!! Gracious! Who in the world did he fleece this time to choke up that amount of cash? Only to admire his name in the upper crust circle of inaugural givers.
Time Warner Cable already jacked up their rates & Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield has increased my out-of-pocket. I guess the rest of these inaugural bigshots will stick their hands a little deeper into our pockets to help offset this expense.
Meet the new administration, same as the old administration. Crooks. Liars. Cheats. Thieves. Scam Artists. Shysters.
America! We have the best politicians money can buy...
Did anyone really think the Democrats weren't in bed with big business? Where do you think they get their money, from OTR residents sending in their welfare checks? Gimme a break. Ted Strickland will be just as much of a whore as Bob Taft was.
....Never underestimate the ability of any political party to shoot itself in the foot....

PATHETIC !
HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !
Nothing new here. Someone gets elected and everyone and every company and union looking for a favor throws money into the inauguration. 1.3 million and I remember someone a few weeks ago saying that this was going to be different than others. It is not!!
I love the fact that someone commented "looks like the business community has finally figured out that republicans are bad for business" No they are trying to get on Stricklands good side. These same people would be throwing money at the inauguration if it was a republican. But in that case you would be yelling about how they were buying the Republicans and this is "big business" buying favors. What a double standard you have!!!
The truth is for anyone (rep or dem) to spend 1.3 million on this is a joke. That money could do alot to help those that need it.
Hey this has happened before and it will happen agian but enough with the double standards.
Anon 1:28 AM,
It must suck to be unemployed after your side lost the last election.
Can't sleep much lately?
Yes it is perfectly acceptable for businesses and unions to give money for Ted Strickland's inaugual celebration. They know that Governor Strickland is a decent and honorable man who is going to bring everyone together to improve Ohio for all of us.
When businesses were donating to the corrupt Repugnicants (God, I love that term) who ran Ohio into the ground, they were looking for special favors. They wanted to get theirs and to heck with everyone else.
Now that they've seen the election results they know that Ohio is improving for everyone. No quid pro quo here.
Nice try. Maybe some tobacco company or X-rated moviehouse can hire you to try and spin for them.
Wow, does anyone know where I can get a pair of those rose colored glasses that Anon 10:36 pm has? When businesses donated to Republicans they wanted special favors, but now they're donating to Strickland because he is a decent and honorable man? Businesses donate to the people who can get things done for them. Thats the way it is, was, and always will be. Perhaps you really do believe that any Democrat is a saint and any Republican is evil, but this is a sad and childish worldview. Reality is a lot more complicated than that.
Hey 10:36
Really don't worry about me. I am actually out of the country working my job so I am having no trouble sleeping.
I have to agree that your view that Rep. are all bad and Dems. are all good is childish. If you are that brainwashed then having a real discussion with you is not even worth the time. That type of view that half of the people in this country are bad and half are good is just foolish.
Business will give money for future considerations and favors. That is the way it is and looks like it will be. Sorry you can't see or admit to reality.
