DeWine to replace Bolton?

According to a story in today's New York Times about the resignation of United Nations Ambassador John Bolton, Ohio's senior senator, who just lost a re-election bid, is on the short list of possible candidates for the job:
"It was not immediately clear who would replace Mr. Bolton. The leading candidate appeared to be the American ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, who has told colleagues he is ready to leave Baghdad. Others said to be in the running are Richard S. Williamson, former ambassador to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, Sen. Mike DeWine, the Ohio Republican who lost his re-election bid, and R. Nicholas Burns, the undersecretary of state for political affairs."
But DeWine told The Cincinnati Enquirer in a phone interview this morning that not only has he has not been approached by the White House or anyone else about the job, he's not even interested in it.

"I'm not interested and I'm going home to Cedarville," he said.

But would he consider it if he were asked?

"I suppose we could speculate about a lot of things," DeWine said, adding again: "I'm not interested. My intention is to be in Ohio."

Oh great! Is this DeWine's area of expertise? I understood he didn't even attend many meetings of the Intelligence Committee.
Why not the well-known internationalist George Allen? Or Lincoln Chaffee?
Would Conrad Burns make a great UN representative? Then there's Jim Talent! My personal choice to represent the Bush administration at the UN- the honorable Rep. Ms. Harris of FL. Too bad Jean Schmidt is otherwise occupied.

Wow Ann. 6:43 Your comments on this blog are always so original. I know after 2 million posts it would be hard to come up with something besides "wRong wingnut". I would hate for you to actually make an intelligent arguement without the name calling. Not sure you have the class for that.

Typical wRong wingnut whacko:

Shoot the messanger when you don't like the message.

Why not take your self-centered aggression and project it toward the news media if my posts are more important than the, so called, news article ?

PATHETIC !

Lets see I said nothing about shooting any messanger. I just made the point that you can do nothing but call people names. Which you did once again. Calling people "Whacko" because they happen not to agree with you. Lets see in America I thought we were to repect each others ideas. No you may not agree with me or others and that is fine. However all you do is name call. Your responce after calling people more names is to "project it to the news media" I thought this was a blog to discuss the articles and respond to each other. Your response is "I can call anybody anything I want. I don't respect your right to have a different view. I am not tolerant of others and I will just keep posting the same insults time and time agian"

Your attitude to feel you are the only one with an opinion that counts and your attitude to those who happen to not agree with you is PATHETIC!!!!

Once again how about a discussin with out the name calling. And while you are at it make a point that makes sense.

Hey, I think I resemble that !

The facts are: YOU think I'm the only one with an opinion that counts !

You see, rather than voice your opinion on the article, you chose to pursue an obsessive electronic stalking pattern of rhetoric aimed at a poster !

So, you need to discover that I'm not as important as you're trying to make me. Yes, I am a leader, but, you need to demonstrate you are a leader if you wish to assume my role !

Voice your own opinion on the article. Why worry about my posts because the TRUTH hurts !

Get a life, loser !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2008 !

More insults??? Not a surprise.

Let me once again make a clear point to you. No I did not comment on the article. I was commenting on the fact that you say the same thing on every post you make. You fling about the same insults. You treat others with no respect. You act like the only opinion that is right is yours. You show no respect to others. Your posts don't say anything intelligent about the articles. You just throw out the same lame name calling. I was calling you out for. 1. Not being original. 2. Not making any sense. 3. Throwing out insults. 4. Acting like your side is the only one that any person can take. 5. Showing noone who disagrees with you any repect. 6. For being entirely intollerant of others. (And I thought Liberals were the ones that were suppose to show compassion to others, you show none)

No I don't think you are important at all. I think it is laughable that you are a leader. Maybe a leader of having the most posts that say nothing. Maybe the leader in insulting others. Maybe the leader in saying the same thing post after post after post. But not a leader. Oh and if you were a leader on the blog wow that would be such a big deal(not!!!).

And maybe you just did not like it that someone called you out on your posts.

Your name calling is so bush league. But I look forward to more of it.

Hey Ann. 5:34

You are talking about someone else not making a comment on the article. You are mad at him for writing about you. I looked at your original post "Stop the da da da whining." Don't really see where you were making any real comment on the "Dewine to replace Bolton?" article. Looked like to me that you were doing just what he said. Calling someone names.

You want someone else to comment on the article. Maybe you should do more than post something dumb and insulting to others.
