Read to the bottom of the story here

Brutish and stupid talk from the mayor, perhaps to compensate for his less than masculine profile.

First, he's justifying violence against someone if they say words you don't like. If a politican can't handle having someone make fun of their father, they're in the wrong profession.

(By the way, Mr. Mayor, why limit your indignity to your old man? How about some fisticuffs to defend your oft-maligned brother? That job could keep you pretty busy.)

But the fact is, if Mallory, DeWine, or any public official took a swing at anybody for any reason other than self defense, that would be the end of their careers.

Black men in jail for the same thing.
Children expelled from public education for the same thing.
The homeless arrested for the same.

At first I thought this was galant - with the use of just a few brain cells - it isobvious that politicians want thepublic to do as I say, not as I do.

Vigilantism , galantry, provocation are reserved for the few, the empowered and the wealthier among us
For the rest - let's build a new jail
