"I'm hopeful that the voter will actually have a very pleasant experience," said Susan Johnson, director of the Warren County Board of Elections.
Is this the same Warren County elections director who in 2004 slammed the doors in the face of elections observers and counted her county's vote in secret, under the ridiculous ruse that there had been a terrorist threat?
What, was someone going to drive their Hummer 3 over from Landen and start shelling the place with bagels and skones?
What a mockery of our democracy. But, so long as long as we're all "pleasant" to one another, I suppose it's OK.
The text under the front page picture in Sunday's paper showing Hamilton County election workers opening absentee ballots says, in part, "..as officials start counting votes...". Friday Cuyahoga County judge Gaul said "scanning" can start statewide Monday at 7:00 am.
What are the Hamilton County election workers doing: scanning or counting? When did they start doing it?
To 11:51 AM give me a break: I agree, and don't you find just a little odd that of those hundereds of "glitches",EVERY LAST ONE has benefitted the Republican candidates? And those are just the ones that CAN be detected. Electronic voting systems are perhaps the worst fraud ever perpetrated on the electorate. To tell the truth, I do believe that my vote will be counted-but I don't know for whom. Pray, brother.
Your headline asks, "chaos or calm?," as though there's a real question. Let me answer with another question: Has Ken Blackwell been the Secretary of State the past two years?
Ah yes. Susan Johnson of the Warren County BoE. When I was there as a citizen inspecting poll books, let's just say that Susan Johnson very clearly resented having to hand over poll books to citizens. What did I see when I examined poll books? Missing and nonmatching signatures. That tends to mean ballot box stuffing.
Why didn't the Enquirer or the FBI ever investigate the Warren County 'homeland security' lockdown and why aren't you more guarded about the security of voting equipment?

Since when is it a 'conspiracy' to question hundreds of documented problems and hope that elections are run and counted accurately and fairly?
