Sheriff blasts judges -- again
Sheriff Simon Leis Jr. is criticizing Hamilton County judges -- again -- who don't utilize a jail program that lets inmates out early if they work at the jail.
Leis renewed his criticism with a press release today, just 10 days before voters will decide if Hamilton County's sales tax should be increased a quarter-cent to pay for a new jail and property tax rollback.

Everybody loves Leis, but he is getting alittle weird in old age. Maybe it's time to retire.
First off, cops are not the judge and jury too, Leis should let the judge's do their job and concentrate on doing his own job. If we wanted cops to do the sentencing - it would be set up that way inthe first place.
on a second note - Leis wants his cake and eat it too. On one end he says build me a new jail so I can lock everybody up who crosses the line; no more catch and release, no more early release... and then he wants judge's to let these guys out early.
If Leis really wanted to relieve jail overcrowding he would have an extensive "work release" program so these misdemeanor offenderscan go out during the work day and at a real job that we can garnish for child support for the kids ofthese convicts and then Si could charge them for "room and board" as the law allows.
But in a short sighted priority, Leis wants to make these guys sweep streets in exchange for their early release rather support theie families and pay their own way.
Si- I don't get it
Serve their full terms or not? Work or not? Are you just looking for a little slave labor and you being the Master or what?
By the way, how many flyover's are you doing each day? And whose getting takin' for a ride - your friends or taxpayers?
Get it together- you're slipping
