Mike Allen lives

When the Cincinnati Police Department was named law enforcement agency of the year at today's CrimeStoppers awards ceremony, the presenter was a former CPD officer and prosecutor -- Mike Allen.

Allen presented the award to Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher.

Allen now is a private attorney. Before that, he was the elected Hamilton County Prosecutor who decided not to seek re-election after a sexual harassment suit was filed against him by former assistant prosecutor Rebecca Collins -- who has since legally changed her name to R. Laney Collins in hopes of escaping her sensational past.

Mike Allen should have been brought up on both criminal and ethics charges and lost his license to practice law.
But the corruption in Ohio would not permit a trial of his misuse of public dollars paid to a woman while she "served" him.
The Ohio Supreme Court's Disciplinary Council failed in thier affirmative duty to investigate Allen and take the appropriate action to sanction him.
Oh the corruption in OHio. Can you say coverup?
Now that asst pros in butler county walking around nude in off duty hours - he gets sanctioned - ALlen gets to drop his drawers during work hours with another underling on the public dole and sneak out for a quickie - and nothing happens but a public embarassment
Of course - we all should remember that our delightful incombant phil heimlich, when questioned by his former running mate for the governor's office -committed perjury during the ag's investigation of the allen fiasco. heimlich lied under oath - obstructing justice - and said he knew nothing of allen's long term affair - but when the ag learned fromothers who tell the truth under oath that heimlich did know all along- the ag petro gave heimlich a second chance to get it right - he let heimlich come in and change his testimony admitting he knew of allen's misconduct and covered it up instead of reporting the conduct as required by the rules of professional responsiblity for attorneys and as an elected official.
this just shows how closely related to corruption and insider deals heimlich really is.

Si Leis using the sheriff's helicopter to transport private citizens and candidates for office from his party is a gross misappropriation of public funds.
No costs to taxpayers my behind.
Politicians and candidates for office are required to report limo rides and use of private jets - I would guess that a free helicoter ride falls right in there.
I want to know how Heimlich is going to report this "in-kind" contribution on his campaign report? Will it be a contribution from Sheriff Leis ( umm... I mean from the taxpayer) or from Rumpke. (Didn't Heimlich just vote in favor of the Rumpke landfill expansion , I wonder if that vote was paid for with a nice contribution to Heimlich's campaign)
O"K, now what's this about the helicopter being used for "patrols" what gives here? Most police depts are curbing their cruising mileage to conserve costs - Leis is asking for taxpayers to pony up money for a new jail but is doing "flyovers" (each shift?) fromthe copter? How useful is that.
Other than uses for 'official business" like when doing a search for criminals - what the heck is Leis doing, doing "flyovers"? ( Now there was that one impromptu "rescue" done of a guy stranded on a sand bar in the Little Miami that the copter happened to come across and executed a quick rescue - but geez, he wasn't even in eminent danger so I don't think we as taxpayers can justify thye costs of "flyovers" on that one incident?
ANd what about what if the copter was needed for a real emergency when Leis was palying chaffeur for camapign contributors? Exactly how much or how many people have exposed the county taxpayers to risk if something bad had happened on one of those clandestine copter rides?
Geez, if Leis is giving out copter rides for free to ANYBODY I want to know when I can sign up for a ride to Blockbuster on Saturday night - the traffic on Colerain has really gotten miserable.
ANd don't even let me get started onthe the issue that brought up this whole fiasco - Heimlich pumping athletic boosters for campaign dollars by having Kerry Coombs using his position with the school district to promote a caqndidate for office.
Good ole Coach Coombs claims to be behind the school tax levy but is promoting a candidate for office who has a very tight relationship with COAST - the oranization that has successfully defeated tax levies across the county, including in COlerain twp.
Now, isn't coach coombs "extracurricular" team threatened to be eliminated next year if the levy that Heimlich, Finney and team have been fighting for three years?
Coombs and Heimlich and Leis are hypocrites!
