Dale Mallory drops Invisible Man impersonation

Up until this weekend, Dale Mallory had been the most quiet candidate in the history of Cincinnati politics, without a scintilla of evidence that he had any kind of campaign at all in the 32nd Ohio House District.

Then, on Friday, a mail piece touting Mallory's candidacy popped up in the mail boxes of 32nd District voters - the one and only sign that the Cincinnati mayor's brother is doing anything but counting on a surname that has been money in the bank for the Mallory family for most of the past 40 years.

Meanwhile, his Republican opponent, Kim Hale, has, for weeks, had yard signs and billboards sprouting up in every corner of the district like kudzu in Georgia.

Mallory has had a bad year so far - ousted as president of the West End Community Council and under investigation for his $40,000 consulting contract with the Cincinnati Empowerment Corp.

But Mallorys have had a lock on the district for a long time. His father, William Mallory Sr., held the seat for 28 years, followed by Mark Mallory for four years. The seat was out of the family for the past eight years, with Catherine Barrett holding the seat, while Mark served in the Ohio Senate.

Given the track record, maybe one mail piece is all he thinks he needs.

If he manages like his mayoral brother, once he get's into office, we should just vote Hale anyway !

Actually, Dale Mallory knocked on my door last week to ask for my support...and he has it

A White Republican has no business representing this district

After Howard wrote that pro-Wulsin piece, he had to find some poor helpless Democrat to beat up on just so he could get his Karl Rove Junior Reporter Secret Message Decoder Ring back.

I thought Hale was black

If Mallory does get in - the Dems better pull his ticket and replace him was an appointee - I think there are still a few Mallory brothers/sisters available

I don't like this family dynasty crappola - but I love the selljob Mark did on the NAACP ( What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and what happens in Cincinnati makes national news) was EXCELLENT!
And , I think it is funny that BIll Mallory is being dogged by Leis for giving out stiff and firm sentences when usually dems are blamed for being too lenient -
Leis is losing it

Hey can someone give me the url for the anti-Mallory blog that Nate "rhymes with hate" Livingston keeps babbling about?

I received Dale Mallory's postcard and the two most noticeable words on the card are "Mallory" and "Democrat". He doesn't even identify his first name. Could this be because he is embarassed about lying to his community about his CityLink support, being impeached by his community council, writing checks for cash on the community council account after he was removed from office, suing the police and sherrif, and being brought into court for a $37,000 debt that he has been hiding from for years?

How can the Democratic Party allow person with such a high risk for corruption to run under their name?

I'm a Democrat and I say Hale Yes.

Actually Howard, Dale has 2 varieties of lit that's being mailed. A glossy version that's being direct mailed to Section 8 properties & a pathetic piece of crap that's being sent out with Board of Elections-generated labels that is a first class insult to those who continue to pay their way & supported Big Daddy Mallory term after term.

Everyone wonders why he's been so quiet? The boy doesn't have a solid platform. Thinks the family name is going to get him elected.

Best thing is that the media has been cooperative in his misdeeds & underhanded dealings, including stealing money from the West End Community Council. In addition, he's not due back in Court until mid-November on that civil matter where he stiffed the loan corporation, by failing to make good on a loan agreement. Estimates are that this business exceeds $37,000 & the clock is ticking daily on that. Moreover, the Hamilton County Treasurer's office is waiting for something in the range of $707.75 in delinquent property taxes on a Baymiller Street vacant lot.

This guy sounds like a criminal's best friend. The last time I looked, there were more law-abiding, prompt bill paying residents in this city than criminals, even though we're the 18th most dangerous city. And this deadbeat wants me to vote for him, simply because his name is Mallory?

Didn't vote for his brother the Mayor & I'm certainly not voting for Dale. This family has mislead & lied to people in Cincinnati for decades & got away with it. They're finished. They've tarnished their reputations & they have no one, no one, to blame but themselves.

I have no doubt that Dale will be elected but what I dont like is the racial undertones that his campaign represents. Its funny how H8N8 continues to spew his facist hate messages. Dale seems to be using Nate as a conduit to spew anit white messages

It's only temporary. Judge Bill did this exact same crap in the run up to last November's election. He also went to majority black resident neighborhoods to lick their boots & he went so far as to invite black community volunteers into his Judge's Chambers to sweet talk them.

Once he gets upstairs in the Court House to the big leagues, it'll be business as usual. Good thing he's running unopposed, as he wouldn't get the votes to get him a cushy Judge's chair.

Si Leis is only barking up one side of the tree. Color of skin plays a big role in this Judge's decision. A very big role.

"A White Republican has no business representing this district"

Oh really now. Here's a little news bulletin for you - there's not enough voting blacks to carry Mallory in this district. Never was, never will be. And that's pure fact. Go look up the demographics & prior voting records.

I'll vote White Republican before I'd ever vote for a black crook who owes plenty of dough on unpaid loans & property taxes. We won't go into the wholesale stealing from the community council coffers.

The "CityBeat" cover MIA story 2 weeks ago gave me a good recap of why we should vote for Kim Hale.
Dale's a thief that belongs in jail.

The Enquirer's voter guide said the 32nd is 90.7% minority.
This can't be correct.
I've been lit dropping for Hale for weeks. I'd be surprised if the number is much more than 50%.

Gosh, I just realized that I have had business dealings with Kim Hale !

I did not put two and two together, but, on a business note: I found her to be efficient, cordial, energetic and personable.

She is definitely not a wRong wingnut !

Kim: think Drug Emporium liquidation and a close out store !

I can't vote for her. Out of my District, but:

I say HALE, yes !

"The Enquirer's voter guide said the 32nd is 90.7% minority."

I don't think that's correct either. However, depends upon how they define minority. Whites are the minority in OTR, as well as the West End & in Winton Terrace.

I'd venture a guess that the bulk of the blacks in the 32nd District are Section 8/welfare recipients, who don't vote. Hell, they aren't registered & have no intention on doing so.

Regardless, even if that 90.7% were blacks in the minority, The 32nd District will be lucky to get 45% of them out to vote & Dale, if it's a sunny, warm day, will be lucky to get 30% of that vote.

When it's cold & rainy, typically wishy-washy black voters won't turn out at the polls. Only the ones who are committed voters will show up, rain or shine.

Carstairs,
Dale's equal opportunity candidate.
Blacks, whites, hispanic and asians all see he's a crook.
Some of his biggest critics are the African American people he betrayed in the West End.

I have been personally involved in working to improve my inner city neighborhood for 25+ years. I have worked tirelessly on all types of investment, civic, community, and volunteer activities; always striving to improve the quality of life for myself and my neighbors. All of these years I kept quiet, working away, staying clear of any political involvement.
That all changed this past winter after I personally witnessed the unchecked corruption in the Dale Mallory led CityLink-Cincinnati Empowerment Zone debacle. Mr. Mallory spent months lying to his community, suing his neighbors to try to conceal the truth, and throughout the entire period being paid handsomely with our tax dollars! I have been motivated to work harder than ever to make sure Mr. Mallory does not have the opportunity to sell the entire 32nd District's interest to the highest bidder. Kimberly Hale has proven skills as a highly successful small business owner, neighborhood leader, and an energetic ambassador promoting the City Neighborhoods. This position is more critical for our City than political party affiliation alone. The only choice is Kim Hale.

"Tim, that's your opinion, not facts or unbiased information."

Holly from Cincinnati, I've got a question. Where have you been? In the South of France? Under a rock? Perhaps an archeological expedition?

"Tim Burk" wasn't giving his opinion. All of what he stated are substantiated facts & the proof is readily available by going to Google, or any other search engine. You'll go blind from looking page after page after page on wrongdoings orchestrated by Dale Mallory.

As for the delinquency on a loan signed on in 1997, I personally unearthed that case, saw it had been revived under the state statutes & got in the huddle with some other researchers to develop this for the plaintiff's attorney & the media.

It's all pure, solidly substantiated facts that have been dug up on Dale Mallory. I know that is hard to believe, given the increased rate of criminality & under the table deals, but it's all the truth & nothing but the truth.

You have a choice at the polls, vote or pass. Take a pass, don't bitch to anyone, because you forfeited your rights.

Holly in the City -
It's not unbaised but you can view her campaign website her to see what she stand for:
http://www.haleyes.org

Smartvoter.org is a good starting point for non-biased election information in general. The downside is that the information is so free of bias it is almost unusable.

Here is the bit for 32nd District:
http://smartvoter.org/2006/11/07/oh/state/race/ohd32/

Dale hasn't submitted anything.

I was looking forward to electing a Democrat for the 32nd district too. But I can't stomach bringing in a crook like that. And the democrats won't field another candidate until Dale gets voted down.

Howard!

When are you going to get around to asking Kim Hale any tough questions? What does she stand for? Where is her platform? Why has she lied about being a graduate from UC when she isn't? How can she claim to be the tough-on-crime candidate and assert that blighted properties lead to crime, when she owns a condemned building in the West End? We know you read the Cincinnati Black Blog and know the rest of the story too.

I am a Dem in the inner City and I have had it with Dale Mallory's games. I know better Dems than I that can vouch that Kim Hale is a great girl for the job.

Dale Mallory isn't just an empty suit. He could do substantial harm to the party once his police investigations come to a close. The Democratic Party didn't endorse him in the primary, despite Tim Burke's efforts. Dale Mallory is a more than unqualified candidate.

Electing a sell out won't get us anywhere. I am a proud Dem for Hale.
