Poll makes Pepper proud

UPDATE BELOW
David Pepper has a 12-point lead in the Democrat’s attempt to oust incumbent Republican Hamilton County Commissioner Phil Heimlich.

The results are from a Channel 9/Survey USA poll of 479 likely voters.

It showed that 54 percent would vote for Pepper were the election today while 42 percent would keep Heimlich in the job he has had since 2002. Four percent were undecided.

The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.6.

“It’s encouraging that an independent poll confirms what we have been saying and hearing all campaign— that people are ready for something new in Hamilton County,” Pepper noted in a press release.

Heimlich didn’t immediately respond to telephone calls for comment.

An August poll paid for by Pepper showed him with a 5-point lead.

UPDATE
Heimlich called to say he'd been told the Channel 9 poll was "not valid" because of the way it was conducted.

We have had enough of Heimlich's corrupt cronyism. The last straw was the 200 million dollars, the price of the new jail, that the taxpayers of Hamilton County now owe the State, and that amount may go to $2 billion. Philly, you're doing a heck of a job!

This wasn't an internal poll, so Enquirer policy says this news will be published in the print edition. That's what Carl Weiser wrote in a previous blog article.

Don't tell me the company he hired to do the poll even bailed on him? (Hey, you have this one coming...)

True--this was an independent poll from the Enquirer's partner organization, Channel 9. No doubt it will appear in the paper.

Heimlich's excuses are laughable!

"Not valid"? Uh, why is that, Phil? And somehow you had the time to call Perry and tell him that, but not to say what's wrong with the poll's methodology.

Hasn't everyone had just about enough of this guy? When things were going his way, he was the biggest bully around. Now that he's down by twelve, he's wimpering. Yecchhh.

Must be that cabal of liberal Cincinnati media at work again.

Notice how Phil won't release his own internal polls? I wonder why.....

Need we remind people that Survey USA had Schmidt beating McEwen by 24 points the weekend before Election Day, and she won by 6?

Channel 9 was also the only media outlet that fell for Schmidt's bogus press release that McEwen was dropping out. So, personally, they have zero credibility with me.

Channel 9 spins for Schmidt better than her own campaign did.

Obviously, they are in the tank for Heimlich. Those people cannot cover an election without throwing their bias into every word.

Phil knows a lot about "not valid" - playing to the "pay to play" crowd - keeps all your reasons for doing what has been done - and not been done - on behalf of the County - "not valid"!
The voters need to "manuver" you off the Commission - and give you time to consider - reconsidering - "root causes" - instead of spewing forth "lock 'em up" answers to serious mishandling of social service agencies, clients, and the underserved urban and ex-urban communities.

I'm sorry, but I really can't believe Commission President Heimlich on this one. It is time for Commissioner Heimlich to denounce COAST, remove Chris Finney from his boards and commissions, and start supporting Republicans. It is time for Finney to distance himself from Brinkman, and to release all information relating to Victoria Wells, Victoria Wulsin, or whatever the hell that woman has decided to name herself this month. Heimlich's foundation is tied to her, time to tell us the truth.

Phil has no clue...does anyone have any faith in him?

UPDATE:

The Dean of Cincinnati called, and said anything pro-Heimlich is not valid because it was written by Kimball Perry.

Why not ask Gannett to run everyday in "featured" paper form something like "The Other Side of the Coin" or "And Now for Something Completely Different" with a guest writers who are not a registered Republicans?

One's voting record I know does not comply with hiring practices here in the USofA, but I'm sure they can find away to get around this silly little law.

There are some really interesting articles about Heimlich, connections to Enq. staff, and other politics in Cincinnati. Another article, I read had something about the last time the Bengals went to the Super-bowl was when Democrats were in office.

I realize this does not follow "Gannett's
agenda" but even the Enq. knows a far stretch of one's imagination can be expanded through a fact. Let the other voices be heard!

I'm not looking for a job but would like to feel proud of hailing from Cincinnati for reasons other then chili, high school football, and handsome-brilliant-Coach Lewis and his Bengal team!

Who-dey!

What his Hemilichs connectiont to Drake dealings at new Drake? I just heard a heartful about a man who recently went into a nursing home overmedicating him instead of going to Drake and his condition has deteirated so badly he might die. He has been back to the hospital 4 times since his surgery only 2 wks ago. Maybe the paper can do an story so this doenst happen again incase they dont want to get in middle of this politic stuff.

This would be very helpful.

Why does anyone take survey USA polls seriously anymore? You can get that crooked company to say anything for the right price. They don't even have contact information on their website.

Here's proof: remember during the 2nd district republican primary when Jean Schmidt produced a poll by Survey USA showing her and the big JC were neck and neck for the most popular figures in Southern Ohio.

Survey USA is not credible. Channel 9 needs to stop using them. Pay Gallup or Zogby the money and no one will complain about your polls reliability.
