The Blackwell spin

BLACKWELL PROVIDES BOLD LEADERSHIP; STRICKLAND OFFERS NOTHING IN FIRST DEBATE

YOUNGSTOWN – Gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell provided Ohio with a bold and innovative vision to move Ohio forward during Tuesday’s gubernatorial debate, while Congressman and former prison psychologist Ted Strickland offered more of the same: absolutely nothing to move Ohio forward.

“I’m going to provide leadership,” said Blackwell. “Right now Ohio needs a leader who will usher in a new era of prosperity. I’m your guy.”

Strickland’s performance was a stark reminder of why he has been consistently ranked as one of the most liberal and ineffective members of Congress for the past 12 years. The debate exposed Strickland’s lack of command of state issues and showed his failure to commit and his complete lack of vision to move Ohio forward.Among the highlights:

When asked to directly answer if he would pledge not to raise taxes, Strickland avoided the question.

An angry Strickland, acting like a second-grader, commented that Blackwell’s ideas were bad and his were good.

Strickland could not answer a question on how much money from the state budget he would direct to specific proposals.

“What we saw today was the same Ted Strickland who has never authored one piece of legislation that has become law and the same Ted Strickland who ranks behind the delegates from American Samoa, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in terms of his effectiveness in Congress,” said Blackwell spokesperson Carlo LoParo. “Ohio needs bold leadership and Ted Strickland proved today that he doesn’t have what it takes to bring jobs to Ohio and move our economy forward.”

As a citizen of Scioto County, I must say that Ted does not represent the values of most Southern Ohioans. He is not an effective leader, he is more of a follower. Ohio will suffer even more if he is elected in Nov.

BLACKWELL MISSED DOZENS OF KEY MEETINGS AS TREASURER, SEC STATE

As State Treasurer from 1994 until 1998, Blackwell attended only 30 of 52 State Board of Deposit Meetings. That's a 57% attendance record at critical meetings held with the Attorney General and the State Auditor to ensure oversight, review and disclosure of state cash holdings and investments. And the meetings were held in Blackwell's office.--Ohio State Board of Deposits Meeting Minutes

buckwheat was probably busy playing golf with Noe !

buckwheat's attendance to important meetings is as rare as finding all thos uncollectable coins that deters the cheater bought with our state funds.

Is that how buckwheat got to be the minority owner in the Reds ?

How do you get to be an owner of the reds on an elected officials salary ?

I guess that explains why buckwheat won't release his financial staements ?

What would they show - investments in diebold the voting machine manufacture, investments in the maker of the morning after pill, investments in slot machine manufactures ?

How do you spell SOS:

HYPOCRITE !

As another citizen of Scioto County, I have no idea what this other resident is talking about. Ted Strickland has gotten over 80% of the vote in our county because we've been proud to have Ted Strickland as our voice in Congress, and we'll be even more proud to have him as our Governor.

After the closing remarks...
Moderator: Before we leave, I have a quick question. Jerry Springer's going to be on the show Dancing with the Stars. would either of you be interested in competing?
Blackwell: Like his brother Ted, the only thing Jerry's good at running is his mouth.
Strickland: Well, that was a sort of nasty thing to say. I would just like to end by thanking my worthy opponent for participating in this debate...

TED STRICKLAND HAS A 96% VOTING RECORD--THAT'S AN "A"

According to the Washington Post, Strickland has cast 6,828 votes and missed only 251 in his 12 years in Congress. That's a 96.3% voting record.--http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress

I wow he actually voted!!!!! Way to throw smoke screen on the fact that he has not made anything happen. Sounds like he is a follower voting on other leaders ideas and never has an idea of his own.

We need a leader who can get things done not someone who just sits back and attends. Sounds like some people I know who got credit for being in class but sucked at it.

Typical:

Throw out "buckwheat" NO CLASS!!!

I think the racial overtones here are sad!!!!!

Strickland slammed Buckwheat Taftwell in today's debate.

The folks outside were spirited with plenty of representation from the World Worker's Party!

I guess Buckwheat forgot his puppet-master Karl Rove!

The voters want a change in 2006, it is time to go back to the past.

More regulation and taxes instead of diebold machines, haliburton!

Blackwell caused Enron while Strickland was in Congress getting bills passed!

HAD ENOUGH? VOTE DEMOCRAT 2006!

I also live in Scioto County and Taxin'Ted has done very little for this area. I am glad that he is running for governor, at least now maybe we can get an effective congressman in our district (6th) wether it be Republican or Democrat.

It's too bad the Chanber of Commerce and the SpEnquirer shut real candidates with real ideas out of the debates and all we get is the SPIN of two corporate candidates.

Bob Fitrakis and Bill Peirce have been chosen by the PEOPLE of Ohio to engage in a conversation about the direction of the state of Ohio. If we lived in real democracy the people could hear all the qualified candidates. All we get is the spin from corporate candidates from corporate propaganda machines.

This is a gross violation of our human rights and this will no longer be tolerated without the guilty parties paying a price.

Carl Weisel is a facist pig!

Had enough?..... Don't kid yourself. The Democrats are as crooked as any Republican. Want real change, take a look at candidates neither the Republicans or Democrats want you to look at. Break the two-party scam and vote Libertarian or Green. Skip the Friends reruns and read up on Candidates who want to do more than just keep their jobs.

The all bold buckwheat commenter is a conservative trying to make liberals look crazy. Read him/her enough and it becomes obvious.

I must be doing something right !

The wRong wingnuts call me liberal and the liberals call me conservative !

One must note:

When you are a leader there will always be followers and emulation is the highest form of flattery !

Beware of html impersonators !
