For the record...

House Majority Leader John Boehner objected last week to Democratic ads that used images of flag-draped coffins, prompting a blog reader to ask us what Boehner thinks about Sen. Mike DeWine's new ads, which use a "graphic representation" of the burning World Trade Center towers.

Boehner was asked just that question yesterday. He didn't answer the question.

Here's the exchange, fyi:
QUESTION: Democrats are being pretty critical of Senator DeWine for using images of the World Trade burning to attack Sherrod Brown on his intelligence and defense. I am curious as to whether you think such images are fair game?

BOEHNER: I have not seen the ad, so no reason for me to comment.

How do Republicans manage to see no evil, hear no evil, and yet continue to speak and do a lot of evil?

I haven't seen it? Maybe he hasn't seen it because he's never in Ohio. Gotta get that leathery year-round tan somewhere, and it sure as hell isn't West Chester in January.

You know I bash Mulon Rulon and the wRong wing nuts everyday, but, hats off to:

Ms. Malia Rulon !!

Although we should forgive the boner because we are not watching the ad either...

Now, Ms.Malia Rulon, follow up with an email to the boner attaching the ad and ask the question again !!

Somehow, I think it will reveal the wRong wing nut wacko as a:

HYPOCRITE !!

Kudos to Malia for passing along the question to Boehner.

Respectable members of the interactive online community want to improve news reporting. Some MSM reporters and editors get distracted by all the excess verbiage and opinions that inevitably are a part of blogging. But the smart ones aren't shy of drawing on bloggers as a valuable resarchers and as a source for thoughtful questions.

I'll also add that for Malia to credit the question to a blogger shows class.

So the House Majority leader has seen a Democratic web ad, but he hasn't seen an ad playing on tv in his neighborhood. Hypocrite is spelled J-O-H-N B-O-E-H-N-E-R.

Just to be clear: everyone who has posted so far seems to have no problem with Democrats using images of dead soldiers to raise money. That's basically what you're arguing. There is a world of difference between using images to demonstrate a difference of policy versus exploting those images to RAISE MONEY, which is what the DCCC was doing.

Here we go again another wRong wing wacko slinging elephant dung everywhere.

Why do you want to whitewash our children being killed in a trumped up war for wRong wing cronies to profiteer ??

If you think Iraq is anything other than Halliburton profits, you don't know schmidt !!

So who really is using dead soldiers to raise money ??

What are you talking about? I'm sick of ANY politician using WTC attacks and WAR images to get elected and get rich off our backs!!!
Why is it the ONLY time we debate images of 9/11 is at election time or when a new movie rolls out?
Bush misused these images and now Blinky and Browne are abusing the same strategy to win votes from DUMB Americans.
Oh yeah, and WHERE is OSAMA? Why don't we WORK on that problem.

Oh, war images are fair game if one is opposed to the action that is causing death !!

it is traitors who conceal the images of death to further their self-serving injustice, period !!

The trade center pictures are used as scare tactics to justify the caskets !!
