Blackwell vs. Petro, round two

As you might have seen in today's Enquirer, Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell has launched another television ad attacking his rival in the race for the Republican nomination for governor, despite being rebuked by his party's chairman for using "smear tactics" in a previous one.

Attorney General Jim Petro, his GOP opponent, has responded with an ad that quotes newspaper editorials calling Blackwell "sinister" and "scummy."

Judge for yourself. Here's the ad:

These negative ads will do nothing but divide the Republican Party in the fall.

Ted Strickland is MY Governor and it will be an honor to have my name on the same ballot as his on May the 2nd. He will restore honor and dignity to our government.

Jim Parker

Jim Parker for Congress - The ONLY person in America who voted for Jack Murtha (years ago), Ted Strickland (years ago), and is Running Against Jean Schmidt (Right Now)

Why didn't you publish the Petro ad ?

Maybe because you favor Buckwheat Blackwell ?

Your rag doesn't even appear to be balanced, what a piece of Schmidt !

Get the truth and the Petro ad here:

Sinister and scummy are compliments to Blackwell. He should be behind bars for stealing the 2004 election.

Bob fitrakis is running for Governor and has documented Blackwell's failure to account for anomolies all across the state. Bobforohio.com

The truth is Blackwell doesn't want African Americans voting at all if they are going to vote for democratic candidates. The reality of Blackwell's narrow interpretation of HAVA is that in Cincinnati 476 people who voted in the right polling location but the wrong table in a multiprecinct location DID NOT have their votes counted.

Ken Blackwell's Disgraceful Election Machinations

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every significant decision that Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell made regarding the 2004 presidential election benefited George W. Bush. Blackwell was honorary co-chair of Bush's 2004 Ohio campaign and served as an election expert in the Florida fiasco that ensued after the 2000 campaign, spinning the Bush campaign's case to the media.
Perhaps the most contentious of Blackwell's pro-Bush decisions was his directive to county boards of election concerning provisional ballots.

snip

Throughout the months leading up to the election, whenever Blackwell reached a fork in the road of election procedure and election law, he took the path that favored Bush. Unfortunately, due to Republican control of the Statehouse, it's almost certain that no serious, independent investigation of Blackwell's actions will ever be undertaken.

Democrats call on Blackwell to resign
By limiting where people can cast a ballot on Election Day and confusing county boards of election about the thickness of voter registration forms, Blackwell is creating barriers to eligible voters. Senate Democrats called for the resignation of Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, accusing him of trying to suppress the vote in Ohio.

Blackwell's Ad's do nothing as usual just like him. I'll be voting for Ted Strickland because Ohio needs someone who cares about jobs, education, and healthcare, not the next amendmendment we can put on the constitution and that's it. Look at how much Issue 1 did for the state, look at those jobs roll in. Watch it though if you blink you may miss them moving in.

I'm not a Republican but I will be voting on the Republican ballot in May just to cast my vote against the criminal Ken Blackwell.

I bet you all are just so upset that Blackwell won the primary. He's gonna waist Strickland. How can he lose? He is a strong conservative, which makes up at least half of our state, and he will rally the socially liberal/morally conservative people of Ohio. Plus, he's a minority. I thought that Republicans hated minorities. I guess perhaps that was another lie of the far left Democrats who claim to be for the minorities but will seldom support one. I'm against affirmative action, but my goodness, you all should practice what you preach.

Democrats don't consider race when they vote. It is a non-issue. They vote on the person and what they stand for, not their color.

It's clear that democrats don't consider other races when they vote. That's why it is a mostly white party. In this case though, the better man for the job is Ken Blackwell. I know he's a black man, but democrats should give him a chance anyway.
