"G. W. Nixon"

Shortly after 2 p.m. - hours before Air Force One was scheduled to arrive at the airport - about a dozen Democratic activists from a variety of organizations gathered with protest signs at the corner of Montgomery and Cooper roads in downtown Montgomery, about one mile from the Indian Hill home where the president was to attend a fundraiser for Sen. Mike DeWine.

The protestors - most of them from Democracy For Cincinnati and Ohio Young Democrats - struggled in a brisk wind to hang onto their homemade, hand-lettered signs with a variety of anti-Bush messages - "Got Jobs?, "G.W. Nixon,'' and one that urged less money for DeWine and more for body armor for american troops.

Marilyn Daimoff of Springfield Township waved her "Got Jobs'' at passing traffic until it blew out of her hands and straight across Montgomery road.

Her friend, Carol Danko of Springfield Township, said they came out to show the public - and hopefully, the president, if his motorcade were to pass by - "that not everybody in Cincinnati is a right-wing Republican."

"We want him to know there are plenty of us here who are against his policies, whether it is turning the ports over to Arabs, Medicaid cuts, global warminig, the tragedy in Darfur - there's no end to the issues we disagree with this administration on,'' Danko said.

A loose coalition of Democratic and left-wing organization had a second demonstration going on at the corner of Euclid and Miami avenues in Madeira, in case the motorcade passed that way.

Got Jobs?

Apparently while the job market is booming and unemployment is at historic lows...these people were still unable to find a job. It is Thursday-the rest of the world is at work!

You forgot the protest at 5th and Main yesterday. It's more than democrats that are tired of the spying, torture, quagmire and pathetic response to Katrina.

The non-partisan polling firm Zogby International last month found that by a margin of 52% to 43%, Americans want congress to consider impeaching President Bush "if he wiretapped American citizens without a judges approval."

"Democrats have nothing better to do"

"Get a life"

Apparently there are still people in the US that will stand up and fight for what is right- affordable healthcare, right to privacy, ending corporate welfare while our citizens shoulder the burden of a failed economy, etc.

Way to go Protesters! Let W know he can’t get away with ruining this nation and the world. Let him know that in the very place where he gets his financial support and in the ”most Republican congressional district in the US” people are unhappy and are tired of his B.S.

"The rest of the world is hard at work"....

I dont think your employer is paying you to read and post on blogs.

The difference between you and the protesters is they will actually get off their a** and do something about what they believe in...

Now, get back to work :-)

Cheers to all the Progressives who demonstrated yesterday, to preserve the 2-party system in this country. People were there from all over -- Indiana, Clermont County, Warren County, Dayton, Butler County, and the Greater Cincinnati area.

And for those who think protesting is a waste of time, Abraham Lincoln, the founder of the Republican Party, said, "To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men." And Martin Luther King said, "There comes a time when silence is betrayal." There is certainly plenty to protest with this administration, and even Republicans are beginning to see the light.

The protests of this week is just the first wave of public outcry to the actions of GW Nixon and his neocon
comrades. A shift in thought is occuring across this country, as more and more folks are getting the truth by reading and listening to news sources from the European media outlets, which at not owned, controlled by the nneocons. Even the AUssies now
refer to Bush as the "CHICKEN RANCHER"! The truth can not be suppressed. For instance, the revelation that the unwarranted use of wiretaping as learned from RM Nixon has inflamed
those who revere their right to privacy. Bush's dreams are melting,
his cabinet in caving in and suffering from lack of fresh air and thought. On Thursday 2/23/06 we breathed in lots and lots of fresh air and energy, thanks to the many 100's of people who came together to think up the slogans, make the signs, work the internet, debate strategy, standing by in case their legal expertise would be required. Thanks to all who donated thought, time, energy and money to this event. Most of us are everyday people who came together,to let the world know that in SW Ohio there now exists a large and ever growing force of many who have a distinct
dislike of this president and abhor his policies. Man, it was fun on such a bright, blue sky
day. Ohio will soon become a
beautiful blue! Yep blue, blue, a BLUE OHIO!
