Mallory reaches out to 'Cincinnatianos'
Democratic mayoral candidate Mark L. Mallory boasts that he is the first campaign to offer parts of his web site in Spanish.
It's hard to tell how many voters Mallory might reach with this strategy. According to U.S. Census Bureau (which has historically undercounted immigrant populations), there were 2,136 native Spanish-speaking people in Cincinnati who did not speak English "very well" in 2000. Two-thirds of Cincinnati's foreign-born population are not citizens and cannot vote. And even fewer of them are likely to have Internet access.
But Mallory said the web site is symbolic of his efforts to Hispanics in an effort to become "mayor of all Cincinnati."
The Mallory campaign also may have coined a new word for Spanish-speaking Cincinnatians: "Cincinnatianos," the web site calls them.

Why does anyone have a problem with offering some content in Spanish. It is a nice gesture, and it looks like that is all Mallory fronted it as.
Where on the page does Mallory call anyone a "Cincinnatiano"?
I see the word in reference to how Mallory himself has been a born and bred a West-end Cincinnatian.
What am I missing? It's like you all are making this stuff up!
It says he wants good educational opportunities for all Cincinnatians. What is wrong with you?
For those of you who are still confused and/or taken in by Korte's bad reporting here, I have spelled the whole thing out for you here.
I did not find the word as described by Korte, that is what is wrong.
He said that Mallory called Cincinnati Latinos "Cincinnatianos."
Mallory did no such thing.
He refered to Cincinnatians, and he used the spanish word for that term.
Well if only Spanish speakers can read it, then it amounts to the same thing.
What is wrong with you? It was on the Spanish page of the website! Of course it is for Spanish speakers!
I have deleted one comment in recent memory (and I'm talking months). It was an anti-semitic remark not connected to this conversation.
Please email me your screenshots. I will post them for you. Why would I try to hide how ridiculous you are?
Now, for the record.
Above, I wrote: Where on the page does Mallory call anyone a "Cincinnatiano"?
I figured my meaning was clear, since the comment exists in a context. Korte sets this context, by saying that Mallory has called Latino Cincinnatians "Cincinnatianos." I asked where Mallory "called anyone" that name. Now, I can see your confusion (since you are easily confused), but most sensible people understand what I meant: where did Mallory call anyone (and by "anyone" I mean a particular profile of person -- and by "profile" I mean as it pertains to ethnicity/gender/sexuality...) a "Cincinnatiano."
Answer: He did not. He called all Cincinnatians that word, which means he did not call out a particular profile.
You are right in that he called all residents of Cincinnati that word. And in so admitting, you see the truth: namely, that Korte's report is incorrect.
Thank you, O Felix, for paying such close attention to my words that you finally realized how Korte is in error.
And please send those screen shots. I'd really like to see what I have not been deleting.
Lay off the catnip, Felix, you've gone bonkers.
Why are you such a racist? You wrote: "...use anti-semitism."
No one should use anti-semitism. Silly rabbit.
You have experienced muddy waters since your mother's broke.
Racial profiling does not equal referring to the fact that there are different profiles of people.
