The Wulsin Effect?

The Wulsin Effect? Victoria Wulsin, a Democrat trying for the third time to unseat Rep. Jean Schmidt in the 2nd District congressional race, told the Enquirer editorial board Monday that she has not yet chosen a favorite in the presidential campaign. "We have two superb candidates" in Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, she said. "Right now, it's a toss-up."

Asked which candidate would be of more help to her in the general election (assuming she wins the nomination on March 4), Wulsin said the question should be turned the other way, given that she came within less than one percentage point of winning in 2006.

"Because I have done better than any Democrat has ever done in the district," she said, "in a way, the presidential candidate will be riding my coattails."

Wow...somebody has overstated their importance and inability.

If Wulsin has so flagrantly misunderstood the nature of her race, how can she be expected to judge the nature of the needs of the district?

Unfortunately, myopic Dems (I'm not saying all Dems are myopic, but the ones in this situation are) are too stubborn to let Black take down Jean Schmidt. He may not be very liberal, but he's better in every way than Schmidt and I think he's a better candidate than Vic was or will be.

That's what we like, a nice modest candidate. Are all physicians the same? Arrogant, self centered egoists?

who does this woman think she is? i didn't think it was possible to get more psycho after her last election, but i've been proven wrong. this woman needs to go back to 'helping' those in africa who don't know how to say "no" in english.

You wonder if the party who has been complaining about the agricultural tax reduction on her opponent's property will be equally outraged by the agricultural tax reduction for 2.64 acres of Drusin Wulsin property.

Wulsin's campaign contributed $1,000 (www.fec.gov) to Hillary as recently as September.

Good Lord, can't you all tell tongue in cheek when you read it?
I would be embarassed by such a lack of humor if I were you.

pretty sure she gave at least 1K to HRC

Black is a jackass and is running a dirty campaign, which should not surprise anyone given that he's a recent convert from being a rethug

"...Unfortunately, myopic Dems (I'm not saying all Dems are myopic, but the ones in this situation are) are too stubborn to let Black take down Jean Schmidt...."

Typical wRong wingnut whacko thinking that the 'flip-flopping black mole' is the political savor for the Democrats !

Now, the cronies need to get back to work designing more misleading campaign garbage because their last piece of 'schmidt' failed miserably !

PATHETIC 'family values' !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE, for a real, DEMOCRAT 2008 !

Keep telling yourself that over & over, wacky Wulsin. Right up until they call the race for Congresswoman Schmidt on election night.

Either Vic Wulsin or Steve Black ought to have no problem beating either Repug this fall. Please, just put our best ideas foward, may the best Dem win, and let.s remove the criminal enterprise that used to be a political party from public life.

Icky Vicky? Yuck! She has to be one of the most sickening people in Southwest Ohio politics. Not to mention she lacks the understanding of the people here, she has no idea how to be in the United States Congress. Go back to what ever it is you say you do for a day job...Vic!

Vic has come close to winning because of Mean Jean Schmidt. People don't like Wulsin; rather, they despise Schmidt. Wulsin needs to come to grips with her "accomplishments".

That said, if Republicans are dumb enough to nominate Schmidt, Wulsin is likely our next Congressman. Democrats are praying for a Schmidt win over Brinkman.

Nowhere to be found on the Sunday shows,no more sound bites on the evening news...he's bad for business election-wise and he's going to be g-damn lucky if he gets re-elected in the backwater burg he reps in PA.

Off of Wulsin's coattails?!?!?!? How about Jim Parker's coattails? How many doors has Wulsin knocked on? How many real voters has Wulsin actually spoken to?

If she thinks that her success was due to her efforts and not Jean's screw ups, she is sadly mistaken.

at 6:08 PM, February 12, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well... what she said was true. She has gotten more votes than any Democrat has in that district.

It seems like some reporter needs to go back to journalism school and stay awake during the lecture on impartiality.

I think this "reporter" has a hard-on for Jean Schmidt, the way she tilts every Wulsin piece.

No harsh words needed. It is true, Wulsin did have more votes than any other Democrat in the district in the last election and I bet she will again.

I don't know who keeps putting positive comments out there about me but I appreciate it. Thanks.

I had the privilege to vet Vic Wulsin as a candidate and I can state very positively that she will support progressive values.
She is concerned about poverty, the economy, homelessness, the war, children and poverty in America, social security, and of course, health care for which she is very qualified to comment upon.
These are Moral issues not corporate issues. If you want to vote for someone who stands up for corporate profits over citizen's issues, vote for Jean Schmidt.
Mr. Black is a life-long Republican who recently changed his party affiliation.I don't know what he stands for other than attacking Vic Wulsin.

Go away Parker, you annoying insect. You've been squashed so many times now it's become laughable.

"Wacky Wulsin" ... how true!

Wulsin is the least qualified person to ever run for Congress. She'll get smoked by Jean Schmidt in a presidential election year.
