Dayton paper endorses Brinkman, Wulsin

The Dayton Daily News has endorsed Tom Brinkman, Jr. to replace incumbent Jean Schmidt as the Republican candidate for the 2nd District congressional seat.

The newspaper, which circulates in a small part of the district in Warren County, said the Ohio legislator "could represent the district better than the incumbent and probably be a stronger candidate in November."

So what? Brinkman has zero cash, zero name recognition east of Clermont county, and zero credibility.

Congresswoman Schmidt will beat Brinkman yet again. Go run your wife's printing business, Tom. Your political career is about to be terminated in a matter of weeks.

The Dayton Daily News is a democRAT-leaning newspaper. No wonder they endorsed Tom Brinkman. The Dayton Daily News is trying to weaken the best Republican candidate for the second district, Jean Schmidt. Sorry, DDN democRATS - it's not going to work! Jean's gonna win.

It's great to see more and more people understand what a trainwreck Jean Schmidt has been in public office. She is an embarrassment to this district. Republicans could actually lose this seat if we go with Schmidt one more time. She has had her chance and blew it.

Tom Brinkman is one of those "do as I say not as I do" type of people. Tom likes to preach morals and ethics but just ask him what was going on in his life in 1983-1984. Also, I know Tom doesn't believe in raising taxes but Tom, do you believe we should all pay our taxes?

Now why would a Democrat newspaper that's not even located in OH-2 endorse the weak challenger in the OH-2 Republican primary? Could it be that the liberal newspaper wants to do what it can to create division among Republicans in the heart of Republican strength in Ohio in a presidential election year? Yes, indeed. So I say to hell with the Dayton Daily Worker. The "endorsement" is a prime example of dem/lib deceit and political manipulation. And oh, yes, it won't work.

How is anything they said political deceit and manipulation? They listened to both sides, looked at their past records and gave their opinion of who the stronger candidate is. As far as saying Brinkman has no money, that's just not true. He's operating on a similar budget as 2005 and will run a very competitive race. I also don't think the anonymous Schmidt supporters on here should really go talking about ethics when it comes to this race.

11:44 idiot, the DDN covers the Warren County part of the district. They have no problem understanding what an ethically-challenged embarrassment Schmidt is. Why should Republicans nominate their most embarrassing and most unelectable candidate when we could go with Brinkman and not worry about losing the seat? As a bonus, we get rid of another politicians who has made numerous votes to raise our taxes.

Ah, yes. The politics of personal destruction. Jean Schmidt's ultimate trump card.

She herself committed the ultimate sin, she lied about having a college degree.

Somehow, she got away with it.

But do not threaten the Schmidtheads and the despised "empire" they are building east of Hamilton County, or your reputation will be dragged through the mud, like a minority behind a pick-up in Texas.

Those are the tactics of the Schmidt-heads.

Tom Brinkman is a great American, I have voted for him already, and I suspect a great many will do the same come March 4th.

Go Brinkman!

Meh. I'm no fan of Schmidt but the DDN endorsement is pretty worthless. Didn't they endorse Thor Jacobs in the Dem primary back in '06? Some bump he got.

Don't you COASTERs ever get tired of being used by the dem/libs as "useful idiots"? Vladimir Ilyich Ulianov (AKA Nikolai Lenin) coined the term in the early 20th century to denote the fools who unknowingly and stupidly lent themselves to the accomplishment of Bolshevik goals. You COAST-types who never tire of trying to trash Congresswoman Jean Schmidt are acting as nearly perfect "useful idiots" for the accomplishment of dem/lib goals. And either you don't know it, which means you are truly stupid, or you don't care, which means you are negligent of your responsibilities to your nation, your communities and to the conservative principles you claim to believe.

COAST is TOAST. Brinkman will lose by double digits to Jean Schmidt. Then it'll be Wacky Wulsin's turn to get slapped around.
