Wulsin gets labor support

Democrat Victoria Wulsin announced today that she's being backed by at least a half dozen labor unions in her bid to unseat Republican Rep. Jean Schmidt in the 2nd Congressional District.

"I’m proud that organized labor is supporting me," Wulsin said in a news release. "Washington still hasn’t heard the message – it’s time to focus on solving problems, not partisan bickering, and to make our families the priority."

Wulsin, a doctor from Indian Hill who narrowly lost to Schmidt in 2006, has been endorsed by these groups:

Here's what a few of the unions had to say about Wulsin:

Jerry Giesting, President of the NALC Branch 43:

"Dr. Wulsin has demonstrated her commitment to working Americans. We know that when she goes to Washington, her priorities will be in the right place."

Tim Kraus, President of the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers:

"Vic Wulsin knows the issues that Southern Ohio families face. Her four sons went to public school, and she’s been on the front lines providing healthcare to people with no other options right here in Cincinnati. She’s the best candidate for the district and the best person to take on Jean Schmidt."

Wulsin has long worked with organized labor on workplace health and safety issues, her campaign said in the release. Her background includes work at the National Institute
of Occupational Safety and Health and as a uniformed officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, the release said.

"These unions are focused on finding solutions, from providing a safe work environment and respect on the job to ensuring a good education for every child and the basic services the public expects," Wulsin said. "When I’m elected to Congress, I’ll work with them and with
everyone in my district to create good jobs and support our families."

Wulsin Refuses to Debate

January 9th, 2008

“She Just Doesn’t Get It.”
Vic Wulsin refuses substantive debate prior to primary.

On Monday, Democrat Steve Black challenged his opponent, Victoria Wulsin, to a minimum of seven (7) debates/forums across the 2nd Congressional District prior to the March 4th Primary Election. Wulsin indicated that she would not accept the challenge, but did challenge Black to join her in refusing Congressional health care until there is universal coverage.

“Of course I’ll refuse Congressional health care,” said Black.

“These pledges do nothing to fix our broken health care system or help the hardworking people of this district who can’t afford health care. If we’re going to solve the problems facing Ohio families, we need an honest leader who will stand up for what is right and get results, not an individual who thinks feel-good pledges will solve the health care crisis or fix our broken system.”

”Vic Wulsin just doesn’t get it – this election is not about me, or about her, or about symbolic pledges,” continued Black. “It’s about the hardworking people from our part of Ohio and their health care, their jobs, their future.”

“I take the term ‘Representative’ literally – votes must be earned,” Black said. “Vic won’t give voters more than a thirty second sound bite in a TV ad. I want to give people the chance to hear candidates talk about the issues that matter.”

“She evidently doesn’t have any more to say about the issues or she would debate me. Voters deserve better.”

Wasn't it Vic Wulsin who claimed Jean Schmidt was refusing to debate, and now it's Vic Wulsin who is the one refusing to debate? My my my how the tables have turned, and exposed this LYING hypocrite!

VOTE FOR STEVE!!!

Lol, LOL, LOL

When the 'black mole' has knocked on as many Democratic doors, he may earn an audience !

We doubt it, though !

Out of the mouth of political babies come:

"The Farm Bill was originally devised to provide a way to insure the survival of farms if the market did poorly. Today it has become largely a giveaway to big agribusiness. For example, King Ranch in Texas alone has received over 8 million dollars in subsidies since 1999. This is not the proper way to allocate subsidies if at all."

The 'black mole' screams and shouts about Farm Subsidies. Even taking the stance: IF AT ALL (sic) (cached here) about Farm Subsidies !

But then:

The black mole was caught with his own hand in the cookie jar so he changed his website to remove IF AT ALL (here) !

Looks like the 'black mole's website and position on Farm subsidies flip-flop faster than his political party affiliation !

PATHETIC 'issue foot-tapping HypocRite' !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE, for a real, DEMOCRAT 2008 !

Since, Mr.Black has spent his political ideology as a wRong wingnut whacko, he needs to court the Democratic voters, not Vic !

The real Democrats know Vic, and know her well !

She has greeted the voters personally through two primaries and one general election !

We know her !

Frankly, the Democratic voter doesn't care about Steve Black because we can understand why he would want to be a Democrat, but, we can not understand why he would ever want to be a wRong wingnut whacko !

We already know that Mr. Black feels there should be no farm subsidies for the farmers in the second district, yet, the tax payers have given Mr. Black over $30,000 in tax-years 04,05,06 for his personal vegetables and feeding his personal horses to ride the luxury trails of Indian Hills !

Vic needs to spend her time personally with the voters and let the former Republican knock on his own doors !

Typical for the former wRong wingnut whacko attempting to take the easy riding path by exploiting Vic's popularity !

GET A LIFE, Mr. Black !

Take your wRong wingnut whacko contributions down the riding trail because the Democratic primary voters can see right though your attempt of bed-hopping from the wRong wingnut whacko party !

The wRong wingnut whackos plant a, subsidized, 'black mole' for what they would view as a win-win !

Sorry, the Democratic primary voters:

DO NOT SUPPORT LOSERS, or foot-tapping, bed-hoppers !

Does organizaed = organized ?

Typical wRong wingnut whacko !

So, you feel that organized labor doesn't have the pulse of the working-man ?

LOL, LOL, LOL

Must be a clueless 'black mole', subsidized, campaign worker !

Perhaps, you should talk to your full-time horse groomer paid for with tax-payer farm subsidies !

Oh yes, that's the ticket !

PATHETIC 'HypocRite'

*sigh*

Wulsin is licensed under Victoria Wells, her maiden name.

Stop slinging mud. Supporting Black is one thing but trying to make Vic look like a lier through poor research is hurting Black's cause.

Wulsin is a one trick pony and she ain't even that good at that one trick. Health care, blah blah, I won't take the benefits, blah blah. What are your ideas to actually fix and implement things Vic? What about national security? What about immigration? Her entire platform is I'm not Jean Schmidt and I'm a physician who thinks we need better health care. Sounds eerily shallow and inexperienced like a certain Democratic frontrunner for President (Obama). If the Dems ever got their acts together they could take out the Repubs. They still don't understand how they get stuck with people like Schmidt or Bush. They get in bed with corrupt Unions, race bait and then have no substantive ideas other than saying, wouldn't you like a change?

Just think, everyone who works for, or pays union dues to, any of Wulsins unions, inadvertently supports Wulsin. Whether they support Wulsin's politics, or not, they made a campaign contribution. Mother knows best! She uses those contributions judiciously to ensure your voice, is her voice, and ensure politicians are elected to secure her power. In their pure democracy of the left, and its factions, they know better for you, and America. Just ask all the bureaucrats, and employees, of the lefts social services bureaucracy. I bet they endorse Wulkin with the same vigor.

"Wulsin is a one trick pony"

Not true. See her 2nd flier from last year's primary. She actually brings a lot of relevant experience to the table.

She's an epidemiologist. How could that be useful? Bio-terror preparations. Pandemics.

She was also involved in the rebuilding of the (medical) infrastructure in Rwanda. Can you think of any other places that are struggling to rebuild an infrastructure? Iraq. Afghanistan.

Sure, she can't articulate her positions or suggest policies particularly well at this point but that is really because she is new to politics and has never been an elected official.

One trick pony she certainly is not.

Bold typist must either work for a government office or a campaign because he/she posts nearly all day long?! Poor soul. Anyway, this is a plus for Wulsin who needed some endorsements from some moderate outlets. She is a very nice lady and very intelligent, but unfortunately for her probably a little too liberal for this conservative district.

I am considering suing the bold typist for defamation of character. That would put a nice big dent in the Wulsin campaign...

Nah, BfG has no connection to the Wulsin campaign. He/she's been doing this since before Wulsin was around.

Pay no attention to his V is for Vendetta shtick. He doesn't represent the pragmatic wing of the Democratic party and his opinions should not be taken as being related to Wulsin's in any way.

Does he = gender bias ?

Oh yes, but the, so called, pragmatic wing has NOTHING to contribute except to communicate about 'bold endeavors' !

"Bold Endeavors" is, and always has been, INDEPENDENT !

We just never have found a wRong wingnut whacko worth voting for !
