Debate over debates begins...

No one could be particularly surprised at the challenge issued by 2nd District Democratic congressional candidate Steve Black to Victoria Wulsin to have a series of seven debates in the seven-county district.

And no one should be surprised that the Wulsin campaign pretty much blew it off.

Black is the underdog in this race; Wulsin is the candidate who took on Jean Schmidt in 2006 and very nearly caught up with her. Underdogs like debates; those who are being challenged by underdogs generally do not.

Wulsin liked them well enough in 2006, though. Black's challenge was pretty much the same one Wulsin issued to Schmidt, who, as incumbents are wont to do, ignored her.

Clearly, though, the seven-debate notion has lost its appeal to Wulsin.

Josh Levin, Wulsin's campaign manager, said it is not likely that Democratic voters in the 2nd District will be wanting for opportunities to hear the candidates deliver their messages - they've already been together at 11 events on the campaign trail. Not debates, but places where both of them showed up at the same time, spoke, and answered questions. Levin said another such joint appearance will take place Monday night in Batavaia.

The 'black mole' is grabbing at straw !

Straw that is: to feed his recreational riding-trail horses for which the tax-payer seems to be absorbing ?

That's right folks: The flip-flopping wRong wingnut whacko has received over $ 33,000 in years 04,05,06 in property tax reductions for his plush Indian Hill estate and who knows how much 07 will place into his pockets !

The flip-flopping wRong wingnut whacko is attempting to exploit Wulsin's popularity in the same manner he exploits the tax-payers of Hamilton County !

PATHETIC 'HypocRite' !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE, for a real DEMOCRAT 2008 !

Sad, but, you may be correct !

Fortunately, the voter count also works against them !

Dr. Wulsin was in Adams county over the weekend, is in Brown county tonight and will be in Clermont on Monday for the forum mentioned in the article.

Please let us know if there are other events she should attend!

"...Please let us know if there are other events she should attend!"

She should attend the audit when Mr. Black tries to demonstrate that his vegetable garden, and hay-yield constitute anything other than personal use !

Let's see: the state auditor is a wRong wingnut whacko, the county auditor is just a whacko and the 'black mole' is a flip-flopping wRong wingnut whacko. We wonder how the taylor will tie-up the lose ends on that suit ? Hope she likes, so called, Democrats ?

lol, lol, lol !

My name is Jim Parker and I was the first Democrat to challenge Jean Schmidt to a debate in 2006. Without even so much as a response, she ignored my challenge. I then went on to win the Democratic primary in a few counties, and after going door to door and speaking with thousands of people, I came in second place almost all the way to Cincinnati - second in Clermont, second in Warren and second in Brown.

Vic Wulsin is a friend of mine so I can make this statement for everyone to read without hesitancy. I believe that it is wrong for you to refuse to debate a Democratic primary challenger. The people of Southern Ohio deserve the best candidate that can ever represent them. You should accept your opponent's challenge. It is the right thing to do.

Jim Parker
Future Candidate for US Congress
Ohio 2nd District
2008 ????

I encourage you to stand up and do what is right for Southern Ohio.

You all can leave Auditor of State Mary Taylor out of this. The CAUV ripoff in Indian Hill is not something the state auditor has the authority to get involved in. County Auditor, yes, but property tax valuations are county issues. If the law needs to be changed, and it does, then it would be up to the legislature. Until then, for better or worse, the law is the law and the County Auditor and Board of Revision get a crack at it. After that, it goes to the courts.

Mary Taylor has as much to do with this as Jerry Narron.

But, but, but Jimmy !

We are not surprised that another no-name would want to exploit the popularity of the front runner !

Jimmy stop talking and take action !

You had the opportunity to get 50 signatures and did not !

Now, go out and get your 2880 and discover, once again, that you should have stayed at home with your family !

Do you not think, if the voters wanted you, they would be begging for you on this blog !

What is it that you just don't get ?

You are: NOT WANTED

You are like a stalker who keeps threatening to peek in the window !

You are in the Health care industry, what is it called when someone has a grandiose opinion of themselves ?

PATHETIC !

"...Auditor of State Mary Taylor out of this..."

Just whom do you think audits the auditor ?

What if the law is not being applied correctly ?

What if there were no oversight at the county level ?

Are you a Friend of Dusty ?

Clearly, you are clueless !

Else, this topic would have been under public scrutiny and citizens would have examined the public record (long before now) !

It has not !

So, we shall see what the 'culture of corruption' has up their sleeve ?

Perhaps, the wRong wingnut whacko, taft cronies, all play free golf at the Camargo Club and that is why they get that big tax-break on the backs of the (we demand a vote) sales-tax citizen ?

PATHETIC 'foot-tapping defender" !

HAD ENOUGH:

VOTE INDEPENDENT COUNTY COMMISSION !

(in fairness Ms. Taylor may be different, we shall see)

Sorry for the double post, but:

"...Ability To Take Immediate Action

The Auditor of State is responsible for auditing public offices (counties, cities, townships, etc.) to ensure that they are accounting for and spending public money appropriately. Although highly effective, these audits are performed on previous years’ financial records and statements. Auditor Taylor understood the need for and has acted to ensure that more accountability and oversight are intact when those dollars are being spent...."

Oh… I think I am catching on ….the state auditor is only responsible for ensuring that public monies are SPENT in an appropriate manor………and has nothing to do with COLLECTION enforcement. A nice little fuzzy out for the Open Society Institute rulers in Columbus and their minion mouthpiece bold blogging buffoon!!!!

Gosh, you know, we really don't like potty training the use-less idiot of the NAZI party (tnp) but:

The unit’s objective is to reduce and recover the loss of public funds from theft, embezzlement or fraud by prioritizing those cases that constitute criminal conduct.

Hmmm, if someone were receiving a reduction in property taxes (CAUV), but, were not in the commercial business of farming ?

Lets see, is there a criminal statute that covers that ?

By golly, we thinks there is !

You aren't arguing the issue, rather the motive of the person giving it. I'm not saying you couldn't defend it, but going after the motive instead of the issue is unsound argument.

I find it funny how you switch between a populist and an elitist so regularly. You have zero (0) credibility on the forum. By the way, I am a Democrat, have had enough, and will vote as such. Please don't give us a bad name.

Why is Jean Schmidt running from all debates? Is she afraid that she'll embarrass herself yet again?

Jean was right about one thing - cowards cut and run.
