Barack's coming back
Barack Obama apparently likes Cincinnati a lot.
The Democratic presidential contender is back in town Tuesday, July 17 for another fundraising event - again, at the Westin hotel. A Feb. 26 apperance at the same venue drew about 1,000 supporters, most of them writing checks to Obama's campaign.
The candidate's wife, Michelle Obama, showed up in May at the Indian Hill home of Barbara Gould for a fundraising event that drew about 100 people.
This time around, you won't have to have particularly deep pockets to get in on the fun - a $50 donation will get you a ticket to the general reception and access to the cash bar. A $1,000 check gets you into a private reception, where the bar is free and a "lite bite" will be offered (which we guess means you probably shouldn't cancel your dinner plans).
For $2,300 - the maximum an individual can contribute under federal election law - you get it all: private reception, free bar, "lite bite," and a photo of you and the would-be president you can hang on your office wall in a frame that will be considerably cheaper than the photograph.
For the private reception crowd, the fun begins at 5:30 p.m. 6 p.m. for everbody else.

Five pound slices of swiss cheese will be on the dinner menu.
Barack Obama will carry Hamilton County in November 2008. This will help him carry Ohio and lead him to the White House. then he will begin a new era of American renewal, repairing the badly damaged relations Bush has given us. Maybe we will be able to be proud to be Americans once again and show our passports proudly. then ither countries will want to invest in this counry again and we can repair our tax cod so that Repugnicant fat cats will actually start paying taxes again. We can get that debt down so our children and grandchildren can do things with their monry besides pay off the Chinese. Maybe we will get an energy policy other than giving our money to Osama bin Laden's family.
Finally, there wil be no pardons for the well-connected Repugnicants whose criminal activities enriched themselves while bankrupting the rest of America.
wow, that last anon sounds almost as annoying as a Deaniac in 04 and we know how that turned out.
If Obama gets the nomination the Dems can kiss the WH goodbye. He's too wet behind those jug ears, and is simply not electable. Call him "The Great White Hope" because he's the darling of white liberals who are just so proud of themselves for being so progressive that they support a "black" man- who's actually half- white but who's counting...
Not only does Anon 12:01 sound annoying, the pompous, self-focused individual is a racist.
Obama has as good a chance of carrying Hamilton County as Smitherman has of getting re-elected to City Council. None. Zip. Nada. Bupkus.
I wonder if Barbara Gould's fundraising would get her an appointment in the Barack Hussein Obama administration just like worked for Reverend Strickland.

if you substituted "white" for black in all their statements it would be widely perceived as racist. So much for his talk about tolerance and diversity.
and anon 3:50 shows the race-baiting right-wing hatred whih went out with Bull Connor. Most Americans can get past race here in the 21st century. A few redneck Repugnicants cannot. So the Repugs might win the old Confederate states, but won't win any others.
Why do we only have two candiates for president? Sorry, both have their own baggage. What about Richardson, Biden?
anon 9:06, are you talking about the Democrat Bull Connor?
CJ, you and I both know that White Southern bigots are overwhelmingly Repugnicants today. Bull Connor was a Democrat when Vermont was a GOP stronghold.
how's that state been doing for you Repugs thee days?
The party structure in Vermont has nothing to do with the fact that Bull Connor was a proud Democrat. And as for those white Southern bigots being Republicans today, KKK Robert Byrd must have missed that memo.
