Indian Hill turning blue (Part 3)

Barbara Gould is at it again.

Gould, who has become one of the most prodigious fundraisers for Democrats in this part of the country, is determined to make her Republican neighbors dyspeptic by dragging as many high-profile Democrats through the tree-lined roads of Indian Hill as possible.

This time, it is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, along with Ohio's freshman senator, Sherrod Brown, who will be drawing the Democratic high-rollers to Gould's home, for a May 20 fundraiser for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.

And we do mean high rollers. You could buy a very nice hybrid car for what some people are going to pay to get into this event.

Tickets prices start at $2,500, but those are the cheap seats. Persons who would like to be "sponsors" will shell out $5,ooo. Those who want to bear the title of "vice chair" will pony up $10,000; and for $28,500, you an call yourself a "chair" at the event.

Pretty expensive chair.

Indian Hill is home to many, many people who in the wealthiest one percent of America. You know that the Repugnicant Party is an endangered species when even the biggest beneficiaries of the Bush-Cheney tax cuts and war profits are turning against them.

Even in Indian Hill, parents struggle to pay their children's tuition, are tired of paying three times as much to fill up their car as they were when Bush got into office, and they want to breathe clean air and drink clean water.

Anon 10:52,

What makes this newsworthy is that this is rich, white Indian Hill, long a mainstay for the Repugnicant Party. I guess the good people of Indian HIll, like the first commenter noted, are tired of paying record gas prices to the oil industry, wathcing their college tuitions soar, and like to breathe clean air and drink clean water.

Indian Hill was a prime area for Repugnicants to get money from. That Bush is losing support here is newsworthy. It would like as if Democrats lost support in Cleveland or if the Ohio State football team lost support in Columbus. It's just not supposed to happen. The fact that it is serves as yet another example of the criminal ineptitude of the Terrorist-In-Chief in the White House.

Republicans and Democrats are the same. The only difference is the name. The special interests make both parties dance to their tunes. I'm sure Jeff Bengal Berding and Tim Jurke will be there.

This further proves why Democrats are the party of the middle class.

Now even the intellectual Godfather of the conservative movement, the most influential right-wing commentator of the past 50 years, agrees with me that the Repugnicant Party is finished. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MWZjMDBlZDg2MDlmMDM4MmE1MGFmNjlkOTE5OWVkOTc=

Buckley doesn't even touch on all the other things dooming the Repugnicants: $3 gas, letting corporations have their way with polluting our water and air, gutting our educational system, destroying the safety net, putting insurance companies in charge of healthcare, letting scandalous religous freaks tell women how to live their lives, and all the personal scandals and corruptions (Foley, DeLay, Cunningham, Ney, Hastesrt, Doolittle, Taft, Noe, etc.)

It won't be long before we will return America to its own people and away from the corporations. Just think of the day when we have a Democratic President, Democratic Congress, Democrats in charge at the state level, too. You'll be able to breathe the air, drink the water, send your children to college, and be in charge of your own body. The corrupt politicians will be in jail. Paris Hilton and the other idle rich will actually pay some taxes.

Barbara Gould is actually a much reviled person. She only has infleunce because her money, but sems to think people care about her ideas. She's an airhead interior designer who married into money who constantly dispenses her political "wisdom" to peopel who actually know so much more than her but who indulge her because, well, she has money.

I think its more a matter of candidates going where the money is as opposed to the area with the money suddenly changing parties.

And, as opposed to what formerrepublican said, I fear the day we have one party control of both houses and the presidency (again), for that spells disaster for the american people. The "party" in charge doesn't matter, because both will spend money in attempts to further entrench their majority. I appreciate the lofty expectations that formerrepublican has, but they are a giant apple pie in the sky. Just as the republicans have turned over America to corporations, the democrats would turn it over to the bureaucracy. When its split, then both parties have to pander to the people (by and large, at least).

What a joke!!!! I guess we now have the Chesley/Clinton Indian Hill Camp and the Gould/Hussian obama camp. This will be a great season to watch them eat there own.

Gould devotes much time to Dem politics, the arts and other worthwhile causes. Her husband is Republican so we should be glad that his money is going to Dem causes. She doesn't have to be James Carville to be a great fundraiser so the extent of her political knowledge doesn't have to be encyclopedic.

I am so sorry to hear that someone who has spent so many years fighting for social justice, civil liberties, and human rights - still doesn't measure up to the criteria of all those who revile her - because she is an airhead.
How sad that being monied is a crime and using funds to facilitate the carrying out of platforms of like-minded candidates is cause for scorn.
Shame on those who think that they are so politically brilliant - that they have the right to "revile" people who really get up and out and do what others pontificate about -.

Disgusting to use Barack's name - incorrectly -
How small you must be to feel threatened by someone who "does" and "is" -
Try "being someone" - yourself -
It might be exciting for you to be "someone" - then
Someone "small feeling" - like you - can make stupid and ugly fun of you -

How weird is this democracy - that it is wrong to believe in - and support candidates - and have so many people think that - what - it's war?
Nope - war is in Iraq - because small-minded people voted for their own values over the common good - and now - "options" - are ugly?
Nope - it is ugly to be mean about people supporting people whom they believe in - and believe that is their right to do so - rich or poor -
