"Kiss my ass" Finney won't serve under Pepper
After cussing David Pepper out last summer, Chris Finney (pictured) decided he didn't want to have to answer to Pepper.
Finney, a lawyer who lives in Anderson Township, submitted his resignation as head of the Tax Levy Review Committee in a Dec. 28 letter to then-president of the Hamilton County Board of Commission, Phil Heimlich.
Finney served on the commissioner-appointed committee that reviews requests from agencies seeking to receive property tax money for special services like health care for the poor, the zoo and others.
Finney also was partners with Heimlich in real estate businesses before they transferred ownership of the businesses to their wives. He is also an avid political supporter of Heimlich's.
He is so avid that as Heimlich was seeking re-election last year and running against challenger David Pepper, Finney showed up at a Pepper press conference and hurled verbal insults at Heimlich's challenger.
Pepper was announcing that if he was elected, he would stress a transparent government -- a shot at Finney for serving as TLRC head under his business partner and at Ron Roberts. Roberts is a Heimlich friend and political ally who was unanimously hired by all three commissioners in late 2005 as deputy county administrator. Roberts already has resigned.
At Pepper's press conference, Finney interrupted to say, "You're trying to smear my name because you're a rich f------- asshole. Kiss my ass. Right here," Finney said patting his backside.
Finney also told Bridget Doherty, then Pepper's campaign spokeswoman but now his administrative aide, to kiss his behind.
Finney's letter doesn't mention the incident, one Heimlich, during the election, said embarrassed him.
It does mention, though, how proud Finney is of the work he and Heimlich did to reduce property taxes in Hamilton County and praises Heimlich's leadership.
"Your leadership is appreciated and will be missed," Finney wrote.
At least 151,999 Hamilton Countians disagree.
That the number of votes Pepper, a Democrat, received in the election.
Heimlich, the incumbent Republican, received 134,595 votes.

Heimlich only lost by 6%
Not sure what planet you're living on Alice, but that's a rout anywhere. In Hamilton County, it's a landslide.
Anybody know whether Phil Heimlich has found gainful employment yet? Last time I heard, he was still out of work.
Finney also was partners with Heimlich in real estate businesses before they transferred ownership of the businesses to their wives. He is also an avid political supporter of Heimlich's.
Note that Kimball Perry neglects to include the name of the Heimlich-Finney real estate company, Three Centurions. Despite numerous articles and blog posts about the Finney-Heimlich real estate partnership, to date the Enquirer has never published the name Three Centurions.
Further, Kimball Perry and editor Tom Callinan were made aware of the Three Centurions story over a year and a half ago.
Everybody agrees that Finney's butt-slap was a turning point in the election. But the reason Finney slapped his ass was because David Pepper issued a campaign statement which included the Three Centurions details. At that point, Perry could no longer ignore the story without looking like a complete tool.
It's obvious the Enquirer (and every other news outlet in town) buried an important conflict of interest story, one which eventually helped to turn the election. Readers may very well ask why?
Also, why does the Enquirer continue to leave the name Three Centurions out of their reports? Is it because the company's seed money came from a well-known local financier and Heimlich supporter?
Without a doubt, this Bearman cartoon was the best coverage (or maybe uncoverage) of the Chris Fanny incident: http://tinyurl.com/y6x6ep
Finney resigned so he didn't have a "your fired" on his record. When will the Enquirer start its story on the Three Centurions? The deals that Heimlich and Finney were involved in deserve full public disclosure. How many other COAST members were involved in these deals?
PFinney DECIDED he didn't want to have to answer to Pepper"??
What a joke!
FInney couldn't answer to Pepper for the draconian cuts to programs serving our most vulnerable populations that have contributed to the lessening of a Quality of Life in Hamilton County and creating the real cause for an exodus from the county.
Without adequate funding for services - the plight of the undereserved grows into an unmanagable criminal element. SOmething Finney the FInk and friends - just didn't get
SO Finney the Fink didn't DECIDE he wasn't going to answer to Pepper - the public DECIDED they had enough of Finney the Fink and Friends by voting out Heimlich!
Finney actually thinks he had control over this issue - I think not.
We have spoken
When, oh, when, will David Pepper and Todd Portune start investigating these Repugnicant crooks??
The indictments and arrests cannot happen soon enough:
Coingate- everyone who got Noe's doughy needs to be investigated for looking the other way and allowing it to happen
Failure to obey the Supreme Court's order on school funding
Failing to close foster-care law loopholes allowing the placement and murder of Marcus Feisel to occur
Unbid contracts to campaign donors
Payoffs from polluters
Pay to play
At the very least, the Repugnicant Ommissioners should have their tax returns gone over with a fine-tooth comb. Can anyone explain to me how people can become multi-millionaires by making about 50 grand a year?
We can't build that jail fast enough.
Oh, what the hell. Send all the corrupt, bought off Repugnicant politicians to Guantanamo Bay or Abu Ghraib. (tax evasion and corruption can be Federal crimes, too.) The Repugnicants think there's nothing wrong with those places, so let them go there and discover for themselves what "Republican values" mean for those on the receiving end of them.
And if the Democrats in Congress and Columbus had half a spine, they will be investigating the entire Republican political machine from top to bottom and having it closed, padlocked, and fumigated for being a corrupt organization under the RICO statutes.
Get to it guys.
The coffee is on me.
Rather, it would be on me if the corrupt, bought-off Repugnicant politicians hadn't robbed me blind.
Didn't Heimlich and Finney's buddy Brinkman vote against legislation that would protect children like Marcus Feisel? I thought Bill Cunningham did a show attacking Brinkman for his failure to protect foster children.
ewwww.. somebody mentioned the most disgusting, "common," man that's come along since Rush - CunningHam?
I loathe him and the station that allows his KKK mentality, COAST "fiscal agenda" ( let's keep it all for ourselves), sexist, dweeb...
Did anybody hear the show where the guy calmly called CunningHam out on his "military volunteering". It was hysterical!
Here's CUnningHam: Yeh, during VIetnam I went down to the office trying to volunteer to be the Great American that I am, and I was sooo disappointed that they rejected me becqause of my medical condition.....
The caller: But, Willy (Wanta waiver) , all you had to do to join the military and serve your country was a pass on the waiver exemption ....and they'd let you join
HAHAH
It was hysterical - the "voice of the common man" is nothing but a commoner, low-life who shirked hisduty while his buddies went off to fight in was - the big sissy, coward, yellow belly....
I'd like to thank Chris Finney for the great work he did on the tax committee. Prior to his work, our county's taxes were the highest in the state and growing far beyond the rate of inflation. It's one of the reasons we've been suffering a population exodus.
Mr. Finney worked hard to keep our tax increases to below the rate of inflation. Taking on the pigs who feed at the public trough is difficult work, and Mr. Finney proved to be tough enough to stand up to these professional moochers. The county will badly miss his work.
Who really thinks Finney counts for anything. Still waiting to see what this clown has done to really help out Hamilton County. Always yelling from the sidelines, but never in the game. Easy to say no, but never has produced results that make things better. Someone see a pattern there? His political skills are a joke. Needs to move to Kentucky. They may buy his act.
....I'd like to thank Chris Finney for the great work he did on the tax committee....
Sounds like someone (fill) is hindlicking finney's fanny !
Else, the sock-puppet is talking out finney's fanny !
PATHETIC !
HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !
The bold italics poster is getting increasingly vulgar and juvenile.
Before the election, the poster seemed like someone who very much wanted the Democrats to win this election.
He/She/It/They should have been delirious with joy after the election. He/she/it/they should also be very happy to see Nancy Pelosi coming in as Speaker of the House and Ted Strickland as Governor of Ohio.
Instead, the posts are still obsessing over Chris Finney and Phil Heimlich.
So... happy that Pepper is in/ Heimlich is out, but seemingly uninterested in the electoral successes by Democrats which led to Pelosi and Strickland's new powers?
Able to post incessantly during the day?
Seems to be slower posting on a Wednesday than other days?
Me Thinks the bold italics poster(s) is/are the staff of a certain "Republican" on city council who openly supported David Pepper.
Council Watcher - any one who spends any time defending Finney the Fink is a Fool -
Good riddance to the Finney Fan base and their political puppets
Stay in Anderson Township and tell your neighbors how to live their lives. Mr. Self Important is now Mr. Insignificant. Must really hurt at social gatherings. Now people can really ignore him!
To anon regarding KY for Finney. He tried that once and it was a debacle. Extremist freak williams from Boone County. Finney sure knows how to pick the winners from Kentucky.
