Cranley talking to Strickland's people today

In addition to leading a group of Cincinnati city council members in approving a budget, council member John Cranley will meet with Gov.-elect Ted Strickland's staff in Columbus to talk about appointments and transitioning into the office.

When asked if an appointment is imminent for himself, Cranley responded: "I'm not expecting anything. My intent is to see where the conversation goes."

Cranley said the trip won't impede negotiations on the city budget. "I'll be part of the process, either here in person or on the phone."

Well. That's interesting...

I mean this with all sincerity when I say, "best of luck to John"... I truly believe, and lots of people who live in Ohio are about to see, that Ted Strickland is one of the most decent and honorable people that you will ever meet in your life.

The city and suburbs of Cincinnati need representation on the Governor's team.

Good luck John Cranley.

So Ok...I guess I'm out of the loop or missed something....for what position is John Cranley being considered?

So glad we all wrote those checks for John - for how many back to backs?
It will be cheaper if he goes to Columbus - for us -
Maybe - he will stop - running - running - running - and - - - use that Harvard Brain?

Jim

The only people John represents are his split personalities - you know - the good guy - the bad guy -

What's the scoop on who will take on Steve (Mr. '93 Buick)...if John Cranley...does what? Leaves Council for a Governor's assistant-type job?

I don't care what you guys say...he had potential as a US Congressman... and now with his mother out there getting publicity on the Cincinnati School Board...that does give two "Cranleys" in the public view to increase the name recognition factor with 2008 voters.

And we all know that Cincinnati just loves its "name brands"....Tafts, Lukens, Procter and Gamble.........

John....think about this. Are you ready to give up the field of battle only to become a careerist and a professional bureaucrat?

Just say "no" to Columbus

Addendum to earlier post:

I forgot to mention "Bush" as another one of the brand names Cincinnati apparently loves.

Otherwise maybe we wouldn't be stuck with Chabot for another two years.

In 2000, Chabot sold the Westside his 1990 Pontiac. In 2006, Chabot sold the Westised his 1993 Buick.

Fools.

Why revert to personal comments about someone's "size" when it doesn't matter...why the need for a personal attack?

It reminds me of my (late)father...never could mention FDR without also adding, "and his buck-toothed wife, Eleanor, too."
(He blamed it all on FDR until Bill Clinton came around. Then he blamed it all on Bill Clinton and how he lied about "not having sex with that woman.")

So what if Cranley is short? Didn't you learn in high school history class that Thomas Jefferson was only 5' 4"....

And we all know how fat William Howard Taft was...real fat.

He still brought honor and glory to Cincinnati...and so did his offspring.
