Dusty rules, Condit drools

Auditor Dusty Rhodes (pictured) earned the most vote of any candidate on the Hamilton County ballot in Tuesday's election.

Rhodes, the long-serving Auditor who in the mid-1990s was the lone elected Democrat in Hamilton County government, earned 209,097 votes -- or 100 percent in his race.

Yes, he was running unopposed -- but he still won votes from 74 percent of the total number of Hamilton County voters.

The Hamilton County Board of Elections reported that 282,190 of the county's 566,930 voters voted Tuesday. That's 49.78 percent.

On the other end of the spectrum, James J. Condit Jr. received the least votes -- 42.

Condit was a write-in candidate for the 2nd Congressional District.

Anybody who runs unopposed gets 100% of the votes cast IN THAT RACE.

I refuse to cast a vote for anyone running unopposed - it just isn't democratic.

dusty rhodes has been doing a pretty good job inthis community. maybe when this governor starts making changes and with a democratic bocc, we'll really get to see dusty have the freedom to tackle some bigger issues. i think he is up for the job.

I certainly realize the process.

My point is: just as the fishwRap distorted reality - that practice is false, deceiving and misleading, period !

When that happens there is an illusion created as to the viability of a candidate for opposition. The big buck wRong wingnut whacko party can create an illusion and minimize competition !

While, I realize there may be some who do not vote because of no opposition, there are also likely protest no vote, as mine was !

Count all the votes !

Report all the votes !

I can clearly see you are paroniod...

They did count all the votes:
Witness, a candidate running un opposed will still get votes, the 100% refers to the votes cast in that races, simply that there is no other canidtates to vote for in that race, so its 100%. Intentionally passing over the race, as you did, is a no vote for Dusty. There were presumably 7,907 no votes for Dusty (282,190 - 209,097)

The 100% refers to the total votes COUNTED. They do not know the TOTAL CAST until all of the provisional and absentees are counted.
