What is this doing on the politics blog?
This blog has been steadily losing focus -- and relevance -- for a year. It used to be about city politics. Now it's about Nate Noy.
But if the Enquirer is going to write about Fountain Square on its politics blog, it ought to explain the politics behind 3CDC's power grab of Fountain Square.
Also, they spelled Megen Construction wrong.
They should also disclose that Enquirer President Margaret Buchanan is 3CDCs PR person. This is a blantant confict of interest that needs to be disclosed.
This is the reason their aren't any critical views of 3CDC reported by your paper. The public opposed this deal and you've lied about the real cost to the tax payers which will be over $100 million dollars over 40 years.
The historic preservation board opposed the moving of the fountain and Megen construction "fixed" the fountain in 2000. Why didn't Megen have to repair the leak for free? Because the 3CDC pigs are at the public trauth and sponsered by the local corporate propaganda machine

A couple points:
1. Margaret Buchanan is NOT 3CDC's PR person. Their PR person is Kevin Armstrong.
2. The cost of the project is 42 million of which ONLY 4 MILLION is City and tax payer money. That's it. The rest is loans and various other financing and coporate donations.
3. Why is EVERYONE in this City so freaking critical and negative? I mean really? Can change ever be a good thing? What's wrong with trying to improve downtown?
4. How did 3CDC participate in a "power grab" for the square? What's in it for them, they're a non-profit? Chill out and enjoy it.
