How much?
At Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory's weekly press conference Tuesday, the mayor -- as usual -- ran down the list of activities he took part in during the past week.
The one highlight was Mallory and Cincinnati lawyer Stan Chesley joining efforts to raise money so several of the city's public swimming pools can stay open until the weekend of Aug. 18.
"We raised $165 million," the mayor said, to stunned silence of the four reporters present.
How much?
"One-hundred sixty-five million," the mayor repeated, to a burst of laughter.
"What? What'd I say?" Mallory asked. "Oh, I mean $165,000. At least I didn't misunderestimate it."

Misunderestimate? Either the Mayor is an Arrested Development fan or he graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools ;)
misunderestimate
Is Mark a member of Skull and Bones ??
Don't worry, Mr. Mayor. When John Cranley gets elected to Congress, $165 million for the pools won't be a problem at all. Especially since he is so close to Speaker-to-be Pelosi. Cincinnati will be well-served with John Cranley in Washington. He will get us the money to solve the problems we don't even know we have. The Enquirer and the Republicans are covering so many problems with our roads, our bridges, our schools, and our social service safety net.
Maybe this is how the mayor and his brother learned math from Mallory senior?
Perhaps reporters and bloggers could focus on the result- the pools stayed open because of Chesley's & Mallory's efforts. Instead Klepal focuses on the mayor getting the number wrong. Gee if Enquirer readers spent all their time finding errors and misinformation in that rag we wouldn't have time for anything else!
