Former West Chester marathoner says Schmidt ran it

Pam Saylor, who placed 6th in the 1993 Columbus Marathon among women ages 40 to 44, said today that Rep. Jean Schmidt ran the marathon. Saylor, a former West Chester resident now living in Plant City, Fla., should know. Schmidt passed her near the end of the 26-mile race, according to Saylor.

Nathan Noy, a write-in candidate in the 2nd Congressional District, has alleged that Schmidt never ran the marathon and fabricated that fact and other race placements and times on her campaign web site. Noy has one of four complaints against Schmidt pending before the Ohio Elections Commission.

"She's telling the truth...I lived in Cincinnati all of my life and ran many marathons up there, and Jean beat me in that one right at the end,'' Saylor said today. "She was starting to pass me and I didn't have the gumption to keep it up."

"I would like to have beaten her, but no, she beat me fair and square,'' Saylor said. "I did beat her before in the Blue Ash Marathon but not in this one."

Joseph Braun, Schmidt's attorney, and Noy said they plan to get a statement from Saylor.

The state Elections Commission, which voted 3-1 Thursday to hear additional evidence in the complaint, has set a hearing for Sept. 7 at 10 a.m.

Braun said Schmidt finished 5th among women in her age group in 3:19:09.

Noy has alleged Schmidt falsely reported running it, going as far as doctoring a finish-line photo.

Your coverage is pathetic. Do you really think people care about this BS. This isn't an issue, it's a distraction. You suck!

I think Nat Noy is hearing the flushing sound. The quesstion is who will he take down with him. This one is going to cost Nate a lot of money.

Yet another nail in the coffin of Nate Noy's credibility. I wonder how angry he is at his puppetmasters now? Nate, you've been used. The folks who put you up to this have used you and destroyed your credibility. The truth in Ohio's 2nd? The truth is that your "friends" have used you and set you up for a fall. They are not your friends at all.

I know Nate and I have actually read the complaint he filed with the OEC. It claims that Jean did not run the 1993 Marathon in 3:19:06 and that the picture is a fake. Braun has submitted proof that Jean ran the race in 3:19:09. I’m a runner and that’s about 10 yards of difference. Braun has already help make his case that the 3:19:06 time is a lie.

Plus I think Nate has a photo that proves Jean did not wear the cloths from the picture during the actual race. He’s bating the Schmidt camp into numerous felonies by lying to the OEC. I think this board should hold back on blasting Nate until after September 7. When he wins this case there will be a ton of people that look mighty foolish for questioning him without all of the facts in hand.

This is TNP writing.

Come, they said, she's vulnerable. You can beat her and win her seat in Congress. Your Virginia residency doesn't matter.
The Second District needs a REAL conservative in the House. We'll help you, they said. We'll provide money for you and get you elected. We have lots of support among Republicans especially in Anderson Township and among Tom Brinkman's groupies. Trust us, they said. So Bob McEwen came, ran and lost to Congresswoman Jean Schmidt in one of the nastiest, ugliest and most useless primary contests I've ever seen.

Now Nathan Noy has been suckered by the siren song of the same incompetent, conniving crew that snookered Smiling Bob. Nathan needs to give COAST notice that they GOTTA help him financially when the OEC decides in September that his complaint is frivolous and that they want some of his money in the form of fines.

Who will be COAST's next victim?

Nathan Noy is such a flake! Is he the one that's been SHOUTING ABOUT WRONGWING FISHWRAP like a wild-eyed prophet eating bugs on the street corner?

This man wants to be paid to represent us? You've GOT to be kidding!

He can't even represent HIMSELF on this board!

I wonder who his "photo expert" is, maybe the guy who did the posters for his cover-band, "The Mean Jeanies"?

Nathan Noy's just a bulletin-board vandal. It's fascinating watching his absolute disintegration.

Oh my GOD, I went to Noy's website, the guy is almost as crazy there as he is on this board!

If it weren't for free public forums like this blog, Nate wouldn't get any press at all!

My question is how did the Ohio Elections Committee get suckered into promoting Jean Schmidt's superhuman athletic ability by an obviously imbalanced person like Nate Noy?

I talked to Nate last night. He’s not hiding from the board, rather he’s been advised to stay out of this forum until after the case is complete.

It should be noted that given 3 of 4 members of the OEC agreed with Nate that probable cause existed the likelihood of any “fines” holding up Constitutionally is very, very remote at best. I also find it somewhat comical that everyone continues to blast Nate without seeing what his complaint actually said: (1) Jean did not run a 3:19:06 (which she did not.) and (2) Her photo is a fake (which it is and will be proved next week.) So, the way the see it Nate will win this case and there will be a number of people that owe him an apology.

Just curious where Nate is “imbalanced” in your mind? Is it is faith as a Christian? His stance against abortion? Commitment to the 2nd Amendment? His position against Gay Pride and homosexual unions?

Which is it “tree hugger”?

The Schmidtheads are out in force, I see.

The real tragedy, regardless of the veracity of Noy's claims, is that Jean Schmidt compromised her integrity so badly on the resume issue that just about ANYTHING will stick to her.

Thank God for redistricting in a few years.

I wish this much time was spent discussing why Schmidt it not a good choice for Ohio's Second district rather than her marathon time qualifications.

The Ohio Elections Committee is probably made up of people just like Noy, looney-brids of a feather.

They probably not only will agree with crazy Nate Noy, they'll try to blame Bush to boot.

To 8/28 at 10:34 p.m. You have got to be kidding? The Enquirer found Pam Saylor and interviewed her. Pam said Jean ran the race. The Enquirer found the photographer who said the photo is real. Give it up, Nat while you can walk away with some small piece of dignity.

Happy about redistricting?? If democrats were somehow to gain control of the apportionment board this year they still wouldn't touch the 2nd district. There is no way they could turn it democrat. If Anything they'd put Warren and Clermont both together so that it would be a massive Republican stronghold and then use the outlying counties to add Democrat numbers to another district. ie: OH-1, or OH-6. Jean will be in congress as long as she wants it, plain and simple.

How big a hypocrite IS Nate Noy?
Nate Noy's Elevator Pitch doc

FAQ 3 – Can you expand a little further on each of the above “principles” starting with your take on GOD?
...

I also believe the Bible teaches us NOT to pass judgment onto others. There are a lot of different churches out there that I believe often miss this critical point.

[As do many candidates for political office, like Nate Noy]

FAQ 4 – What about church? What church do you believe in?

To be perfectly honest I don’t think any one church teaches the Bible and GOD’s message in the exact way I have interpreted it.

[Just make it up as you go along, NateGod?]

FAQ 6 – What about telling the truth? How important is that since most people believe all politicians are liars?

To me the telling of the truth is what GOD expects out of all of us. I think every lie is a very slippery slope and GOD will punish liars in the end with very little mercy. It’s not my job to judge a liar; GOD will do that. However, I do think it’s my duty to expose others to the truth.

[Like Schmidt's Marathongate Photos? Riiiight....]

Anon 1:41 PM, redistricting could happen if the Dems could get control of the apportionment board this year. Under the current math, giving Ohio 18 seats (which won't change until after the Census in 2010), you are right, it is going to be difficult to remove Schmidt now. YOu are also right that Dems will want to add more Dems to the 1st CD, regardless of who wins, either to help remove CHabot in 08 or to protect Cranley if he wins.

What the other poster might be referring to is the post-2010 re-districting. Ohio will lose seats, most likely 2 of them. Regardless if the process is controlled by Democrats, Republicans, or Martians, the Second CD as we know it will disappear. Schmidt will find herself in with Chabot (or Cranley), Boehner, or Turner. The rest of her district will go to the Strickland and Ney sucessors.

No one in Columbus likes her. That is not likely to change with term limits, either.

So are we supposed to vote for Nate Noy because he think he's an expert on Jean Schmidt?

What kind of qualifications is THAT, regardless of the accuracy of his charges?

What benefit to Ohio 2nd does an expert in Jean Schmidt's athleticism bring?

We've seen how Nate can hate others and rank like a madman, that's hardly a suitable representative for Cincinnati; perhaps Michael Moore needs an assistant oil-boy?

Anon 3:08: If any district is eliminated, it won't be in the counties Schmidt controls right now. Think about it, Hamilton County is losing what, 11 people a day? Where are they all going? Butler, Warren, and Clermont counties, and they're almost all, I'd bet 8-9/11, Republican. That's too many people in one area to eliminate a Congressional seat. All of southwest Ohio is that way, the same with Western Ohio, and north central, and much of south central Ohio. The truth of the matter is that Ohio is a Republican state. It may be 06', but bringing up an interesting point like redistricting after congressional seats are taken from us, the Democrats will be freaking out in 2012. Why? Because they know that as long as there are good candidates, and a better environment than what we're seeing right now, the voters will go back to their party. Democrats best shot is to pack Republicans together, and make strong urban areas to insure seats at some point in time. Ohio is not a Democrat state, it is just a state with poor leadership and unfortunately people may not pay attention to the quality candidates that will be presented to them this year. ie: Mary Taylor, and Greg Hartmann.

After viewing the Jean Schmidt Columbus Marathon 1993 photo I'd like to point out the following anomalies that would lead one to think that the photo was taken AFTER another event and transposed onto this photo.
1) She looks REFRESHED unlike the other runners who have just finished a 3 1/2 hour, 26 mile race.
2) She’s wearing long pants, like one would do to cool down, unlike the other runners in the race who all are wearing shorts and light weight t-shirts.
3) She's standing flat-footed on the finish line, not in full stride like the other runners and looking up at the photographer.
4) She is holding part of something in her left hand - a post race award ?
5) Her position at (6:35) as opposed to the other runners at (5:25).
6) The style and lettering on her bib (the number F55? in blue on a light blue background) is Not consistent with the bibs of the other runners or in recent Columbus Marathons.
7) She is Not wearing a watch, a prerequisite for anyone running a marathon.

Nate, do you realise that Jean Schmidt could sue you after you lose this finding? I would think better of her if she DID!

You are seeing ghosts in cigarette smoke, you fool.

It is unfortunate, but it would appear that this time Mean Jean is going to prevail. Nate better get ready to bend over and pay her legal fees... I have a feeling they are not going to be cheap.

at 1:57 PM, August 30, 2006 Anonymous Anonymous said...

The Enquirer reporter has interviewed the race photographer and verified the picture was not altered. They interviewed Pam Saylor who verified Schmidt's 5th place finish also verifying Pam Saylor finishing 6th. The race director in 1993 has verified the race results and Schmidt's time. Nate Noy, you are a loser and the only thing you have to look forward to is a lifetime of unemployment. The question is are you going to pull the puppet master out of the tree house with you. Come on Nate give the strings a good pull.

Nate Noy is part of a Karl Rove-created conspiracy to keep Mean Jean's name in the media by vindicating her from her previous campaign wrong doings all while making her look good by showing off her awards. Don't let Rove steal another election! Al Gore is your president! John Kerry is too! They were both cheated.

If Al Gore and John Kerry is President then who ran as an Independent.

This is TNP writing.

Anonymous at 3:07, 8/30/06, is a picture-perfect example of the parallel reality that some deluded Democrats live and move in.
His (or her) comment is utterly laughable on about 3 different levels, but, I'm sure, totally serious. This is the new, modern Democrat party in action, the proud successor to the old Democrat party of FDR, HST, HHH, JFK and Henry "Scoop" Jackson. Imagine a fruitcake like Anonymous 3:07 in DC in ANY office. For example, imagine Nancy Pelosi or John Murtha as Speaker of the House or perhaps Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader. Precious Lord, may it never be so!
