"Your Team Ain't Schmidt" wins 2nd

You read that right... Rep. Jean Schmidt's team in this year's ACLI Capital Challenge race was called "Your Team Ain't Schmidt."

And, yes, they won 2nd Place... In the category for Worst Named Team.

Beating them for 1st Place was a U.S. State Department team, called "I-Rock, I-Ran."

3rd Place went to the USA Today team, called "USA Toadys."

4th Place went to Sen. John Cornyn's team, called "We're No Weanies, We're Corndogs."

Schmidt ran yesterday's 3-mile run in 22:50, which earned her 1st Place among U.S. House female runners. Her time was faster than the fastest U.S. Senate female runner, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, who finished in 39:12.

So ... Schmidt is, again, the fastest female member of the U.S. Congress. But she didn't beat her time from last year of 22:41, which set a record at the race for the fastest time run by a female member of the U.S. House.

See all the results HERE.

Wait...2nd WORST name?! I'd have given her 2nd best name behind Fox News Channel's "Fair and New Balanced" team.

Funny typo in the local DC "Running Report" It's a three-mile run, BTW.

Rep. Jean Schmidt (D-OH), heading the "Your Team Ain't Schmidt" squad, won the women's House race in 22:50."

When did she switch parties? Better, what was the carrot dangled? More campaign contributions from the financial "industry?" Note the sponsors:
ING, METLIFE, NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL,
PRINCIPAL FINANCIAL GROUP, SWISS RE, QWEST and of all things "ROLL CALL"

It started at 8:00 a.m. so the hard-working Congressionals can be in the office before lunch. Might play hell with those mid-morning committee meetings, though.

Just once, I'd like to see Malia Rulon report on something of actual significance.

Who cares that Jean Schmidt consistently votes against any kind of Iraq exit strategy? She's "the fastest female member of the U.S. Congress"! That's so much more fun to write about.

10:46 PM -

Admittedly, America-hating libtards like you have an Iraq "exit strategy":

LOSING THE WAR AND HANDING THE PERSIAN GULF TO THE IRANIANS

Fortunately for this country, defeatists like you are in the extreme minority. To paraphrase Congresswoman Jean Schmidt: cowards like you cut and run, Marines never do.
