Portune's ode to Brett Favre
Brett Favre announced Tuesday he's retiring. Upoin hearing the news, Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune wrote this impromptu poem. An ode to the quarterback.
"There is No Joy in Lambeau.
From Lombardi and Starr, to Hornung and Gregg
Brett Favre has left fans, to plead and to beg
One more scramble, one more touchdown,
One more winning two minute drill
His exploits, the Hall will now journal
For the mighty Brett, is now over the hill. "

is this how portune spends his time now that he brokers backroom deals to hand over county seats to republicans like hartman?
Is this how Jessica spends her time?
God help us.
Nothing but the biggest stories here at the Enquirer...
They call him Odd Todd for a reason.
Wow. That's actually pretty good. My hat's off to the talanted Mr. Portune.
Democrats will have plenty of time to pen poetry after the voters wipe the Repugnicants off the map and turn nearly all of them out of office this November.
To be fair to Jessica, this isn't a "story" this is a blog. I for one appreciate her sharing this hilarious tidbit!
I'm sorry, that's just weird. Maybe if a Cincy legend retired/died it would be a decent tribute... but still pretty strange. And at least make it a good poem!
Has Portune lost it?
Portune OBVIOUSLY needs some more work!!
I miss read this at first, I thought Mr. Portune was retiring. But, really, why doesn't he just keep to messing , I mean running Hamilton County and leave the City of Cincinnati, Brett Farve, the Green Bay Packer, CVG, Delta alone. He is a County Commissioner not the Tri-State Commissioner!!
I'm suprise he hasn't commented or put his nose into something in Indiana. Give a break, the guys a clown.
Todd,
Mr. Favre is NOT "over the hill." He wants to go out at the top of his game. You are the one "over the hill."
Like the psalms of King David, here cometh King Portune!
