Obama's coming; Kearney's raising cash
One of Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama’s early fund-raising events will be in Cincinnati on Feb. 20, thanks to an old friend of of the Illinois senator.
State Sen. Eric Kearney, D-Cincinnati, is organizing a breakfast event for Obama, at a time and place yet to be determined. But, according to the Hamilton County Democratic Party, ticket prices will range from $100 to $2,300, the federal limit for individual contributors in the 2008 primary election cycle.
Invitations to the Obama fundraiser are expected to be mailed out within the next few days.
Kearney is a long-time friend of the Illinois senator, who plans to make a formal announcement of his candidacy Saturday in Springfield, Illinois. Kearney’s wife, Jan-Michele, was in Obama’s class at Harvard Law School. The Kearneys attended Obama’s wedding.

I personally feel that Barack Obama should wait at least until the next election cycle to make his run, but, if every dollar given to his campaign means one dollar less for big-business candidate Hillary Clinton, all well and good.
Not sure if the good senator reads this blog or not. However, if he needs financial or logistical support for this, perhaps he should call Leslie Ghiz. She supports Democratic candidates with regularity and she has two City Hall staff aides she can loan him for help on this event.
The fact that one of them is the president of the local Young Republicans says much more about the sorry state of the local GOP than it does about Leslie Ghiz's politics.
you can't expect any gop member to remain loyal to a party that has sold its soul to the devil - or lobbyists
as to obama - i wish he could make this run- but, i don't think the world is ready for himinthe drivers' seat - i think he needs a white master - one that can out shine him without diminishing his glow
Being a 19 year old college student who is just now getting involved with politics, it is with great honor to have this opportunity to witness a potential president speak in my home town. Although money is an issue with recieving tickets, I greatly support the Barack Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign, and I can't wait till he is actually here. To think, this could possibly be what my children's children will be reading about in their history books. It's a great honor to be apart of this.
