Scandal-fighting costs: $175-an-hour.

Hamilton County taxpayers will continue to pay for the Rebecca Collins-Mike Allen sex scandal.

Earlier this month, a federal court judge ruled that Collins, an assistant prosecutor who admitted to a years-long extramarital affair with then-Prosecutor Mike Allen, couldn't continue to sue Hamilton County. But, the judge added, Collins could continue to sue current Prosecutor Joe Deters who fired Collins after he won the election.

Because the Prosecutor's Office represents Hamilton County in the case, and because it would be a conflict of interest for the Prosecutor's office to represent the prosecutor, Hamilton County commisioners have agreed to hire a private attorney to represent Deters in the wrongful termination suit Collins filed. She accused Deters of firing her in retaliation for her suit against Allen for sexual harassment and discrimination.

Last week, commissioners adopted a resolution hiring Cincinnati attorney Lawrence Barbiere to represent Deters -- at $175 per hour.

Collins now is a private attorney and legally has changed her name to R. Laney Collins.

I hope everyone will remember the next time they see Mike Allen slinking around, to walk up and thank him for the shame and embarrassment he brought upon the Republican Party and Hamilton County.

Not to mention all of the taxpyer coin we had to shell out to pay for his adulterous & immoral behavior in while in a position of public trust.

I think it is great that she is suing. Deters could always get some concealed donations to pay for those illegal fees. 175.00 and hour is a bargain.

There is no doubt in my mind that she was discriminated against and a jury will agree.

Allen used his office to control everybody and she was no exception.

Let's just hope Deter doesn't turn things over to his convict friends.

Allen deserves to get on with his life !

He has admitted and shown remorse !

His wife has forgiven !

We should forget and move on !

He may be a better man now that he has seen the bottom and represent everyone better.

I'm a yellow dog and I would support him for judge !

Michael, if the wrong wing will not forgive, think Dem.

We believe in second chances and progression in personal growth !

This women has a relationship with a man whom she knows is a) her boss, and b) married and then she has the *alls to claim she is a victim. Get serious. She was a consenting adult hoping to get something out of a relationship. She deserves anything that comes her way.

You fail to make a plausable argument.

Affairs happen everyday in a country with a 50 % divorce rate.

Affairs happen at the office everyday !

When it is your boss, the boss must go !

Management has a higher standard of performance !

The boss was gone, so, she should maintain her employment, period !
