Mallory family rule: Dad votes first

There's an Election Day tradition in state Sen. Mark Mallory's family. No one can remember when it started, or why -- or at least Mark's not telling.

"No one votes before dad," Mark said.

Dad, of course, is former Ohio House Majority Leader William L. Mallory Sr. And when Mark showed up early one year and his mom saw later that he had already signed the poll book, Mark was in trouble.

Luckily for Mark, dad voted early this year. They both went to the polls at 7 a.m., with Mark waiting patiently until his father's vote was securely in the ballot box. Then Mark started his whirlwind Election Day tour of Cincinnati polling places.

"We're getting a good reception everywhere we go," said campaign spokesman Jason Barron from his cell phone as the senator's entourage stopped to eat at the Hyde Park Tavern. "We're upbeat."

My, such maturity from the Pepper supporters; deriding a Senator for respecting his father . . .

You know what...some people just know nothing about respect!! One should appreciate the character shown by Mr Mallory in giving his father the respect he deserves in their household. It`s not about a grown man looking for permission to do anything...it`s about a family reminding each other of the values that have been taught in their home and in making sure that even as an adult, that one keeps them.
It`s funny that in this day and age that some people just can`t appreciate when others have been well home-grown..especially knowing that there are so many out there that aren`t. You are right...BIZARRE!!!

"Breaking news:
William L. Mallory Sr, father of Mark Mallory, casted his vote this morning for David Pepper.
"If Mark is elected, he might not ever move out," William said. "I am hope Mark and his partner, Jason Barron, are able to go out and find real jobs."

I would have to assume that this is fake.

This is the real dean of Cincinnati. There are a couple of people impersonating me in these blogs, using phoney websites and goofy pictures that are clearly not me.
FYI - I do not use my title as dean when I post, so don't listen to anyone who does.
